Ok so I am fairly new to the dirt bike world, been riding for 3 years now. I ride 100% trails. My first pair of boots were some cheap Fly Racing boots. Well they are wore out and I am upgrading my gear. My question is what kind of boots do y'all prefer? I have heard TONS of great reviews about Gaerne SG10, but they are $380. I am by no means an experienced rider, I ride on the weekends or days off when I can. I am not as dedicated as many other riders. I want some really great, reliable boots, but don't want to overpay for boots I won't utilize all their benefits.

Another pair of boots I've looked at hard are Alpinestars Tech 3's but I hear they have issues with the soles wearing out really quickly. Any help or opinions is appreciated guys!

I have always ran Fox boots. I have never worn out a pair while growing up. I always grew out of them before they wore out. I have had my current pair for about 3 years now. They are super comfy too. I'm 95% sure they are Fox Comps.

I checked out the Comp 5 Off Road boots, they are comparable to the Alpinestars Tech 3 AT. That is what I have it narrowed down to now actually.

I have some Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex's for dualsporting; they are comfortable but still stiff in the ankle and feel sturdy.

For perhaps the best protection, but ungodly uncomfortable boot the Sidi Crossfires are decent.

Both boots are more then $380 though...

A little of this and a little of that.
I've got A-stars Tech 10's, my daughter has Tech 3's. Both pairs have held up well and are sturdy & comfortable. A friend has the Gaerne SG10's & loves them.
Go to a dealership & try some boots on. Walk around, swing a leg over some bikes, do a good eval. Buy the best boot you can afford.

I LOVE my Alpinestars Tech 3’s i have probably 60 to 80 hours of ride time with them and no problems. i’d def buy them again if i was getting new boots and the place had them. or maybe some tech 7’s 8’s what ever it is now.have not keep up with all the new boots in a few years.

Tech 10's. Had Tech 3's that lasted for almost two years, good boot. I love my 10's, wouldn't go back.

I had some Fly racing boots that weren't as tall as a standard moto boot, nice for walking around and stuff but they lasted about 1 good season on the trails and they're wrecked. Just bought some A-Stars Tech 3's so i'm excited to see how they do.

I've had some Alpinestars Tech 3 ATV boots for years, and they have worked great. I like the ATV ones for the tread on the bottom.

The crappy thing about my area is there isn't really any shops to go try boots on at. I hate to hear all these great reviews on the Tech 3s, I just ordered the Fox Comp 5s the other day. I had read a lot of reviews that the buckles on the Tech 3s are super hard to deal with and many had to alter them just to get the buckles to work properly.
