So I'm in the process of replacing my front bumper trim (the black piece on the bottom of the bumper). Its either part number 53911-04901 or 53911-04210. Double checking part numbers with the dealership has me confused.

My Truck is a 2020 Double Cab TRD- Off Road.
Dealership had it listed as a TACOMA TRD OFFRD 4X4 DOUBLE CAB
Based on my VIN, Toyota.com says its a TRD OFF.
www.toyotapartsdeal.com recommends both for my VIN
When the dealership entered my VIN at the parts counter, it came up as a SR5 with a TRD Off Road package.

Part Number 53911-04901 fits a SR or SR5
Part Number 53911-04210 fits TRD Off-Road

I'm confused. Does any of this make sense?
    THANKS!

It’s very confusing. The off-road is sometimes called an off-road and other times called a sr5 with the off-road package. Most parts are interchangeable. Can’t the dealer sort it out for you?

Purchased it from a dealership in NC. I'm working with the local dealership in VA. I was under the impression when I purchased the truck it was a TRD Off Road, nothing indicated that it was an SR5 with an Off road package.

They are different names for the same thing. Often there will be multiple part numbers for the same part where it’s unclear if they are different or not. I’m guessing the dealers have a better parts system than the public one to help sort it out.

All TRD models are noted as SR5s with TRD options. You have an OR. Easiest verification is MTS / CC on AT ORs or ATRAC on MT ORs.

Those are basically the same parts...unpainted black plastic. Get 53911-04210 and be done with it...

Do you have the rear locker and mts/crawl controls? If so, it’s definitely an Offroad.

SR5 is the trim level. TRD Off Road is an option pkg on top of the trim. Some years and cab configs have a more expensive TRD Off Road Premium package available.

When in doubt, go with the decal on the rear of the box. That has to be right .

    It's an Off-Road.

You need this part number for the textured front valance.
    53911-04210

If you want an Amazon option that is 98% match for $80, this is a good way to go.

I just replaced mine last week.

Your question has already been answered but I figured I'd add this data point:

The 3rd gen SR5 model has never been offered with a 6spd manual transmission. You have to go Sport, Off-road or Pro for that (maybe the limited too <shrug>.)

In 2016 and 2017 the SR and SR5 models had an option of a 5spd manual for the 4 cylinder offerings.

Decals are sold aftermarket to any buyer. Also even some batches of trucks have been completed at the factory with the wrong decals... Some PROs were sent off with 'Off Road' Stickers in error as PRO production shifted factories, as I recall.

Internally, Toyota labels all TRDs as SR5s with X Y Z package.

The lower valance piece from any trim will fit anyway, they're are all the same
