I have two sales lined up. I can pick a 2013 Tacoma SR5 TRD Sport with 68000 miles and it is in absolute mint condition. My other choice is a 2008 Tundra SR5+ TRD Off-road (Full Luxury Crew Max inside w/leather) with a few scratches and 73000 miles. I understand that both of these are at the opposite end of the spectrum and that it depends what I need it for. I am only putting a canoe in the bed but I am also a large person who fits better in the Tundra. Any opinions

    Tacoma- $26500
    Tundra- $22900

If all you need the truck aspect for is a canoe I would go Tacoma. You will probably need a bed rack for the canoe with either truck. Parking and driving a Tacoma in urban environments is SO much easier than a half ton. How large a person you are could change things though. As a fellow large person, at about 6'3" 260, I find the Tacoma comfortable. If I were more like 300lbs though I would probably not find the Tacoma as comfortable, and would have gone the half ton route.

I agree with Jeff on the tacoma, I'm 6'0 280 and have no problems with fitting in my tacoma.

The Tacoma is easy to drive. It fits places the Tundra struggleso with, like narrow trails and tight torners.
But I do at times really wish I had more room inside and a little more room in the bed.
I'm only 5' 8" an I seem to fit the truck great. My father is 6' 1" 250ish. He is cramped inside.
Had to bend way forward to clear the door frame to get in.

Next time I'm in the market for a new truck, I'll add full size to the list of possibilities.
But it will be really hard to switch from a Tacoma. I've been in over 12 years now.

I think you answered your own question. If you fit better in the Tundra, you might hate the Tacoma every time you get in it.

    Tundra.

I'm 5'9'' 195lb and the truck is comfortable, couldnt imagine being 6ft+ and owning this truck. Its easy to say one FITS in the truck , its another to actually be comfortable.

I have taller friends who have to wedge themselves in my truck. If I was a bigger guy I wouldn't even consider a midsize truck.

SR5 is a different trim level than TRDs.

Its all up to you. You either want or need a full-size or you don't. The Tacoma will have better gas mileage.
I personally don't care at all for the Tundra. I like the previous generation Tundra on looks and would go with that in a heartbeat. The new Tundras are ugly and honestly aren't as good as other full sizes. But I'm mega biased towards Fords. Mine have been fantastic machines.

If this is going to be an only vehicle and you don't need a full-size I go with Tacoma. But with a long bed.
