Custom painted stripe on the scoop by me

    1/2 stripe (flat jet black)

Painted the red first then lay down a trd sticker made by my wife and painted the flat black on top. Removed the sticker and that’s it.

The grille is custom painted too. The shiny black has metallic flakes and there’s some flat jet black too. For now I’m thinking of getting a different grille!

    Naw, I'm just kidding!

I was just being silly with the fact that mine probably stands out as a different beast as I haven't covered up or removed chrome, or added anything additional to the looks of the vehicle yet.

Give me some time, and I will have some personal touches.

Definetly the bumper. I don't know anyone else here with the same one:

    Nice, understated work.

I like the Sport / OR grilles once painted, even over the Pro grille. Now, if the Pro grille sat flush with the surround, it would be difficult choice.

Awesome. A real justification for the fake scoop.

I like that led hood scoop light bar. That might be the next mod!

What brand is that led light bar?
    How many inches?

    Nice job!
Got me thinking how rad a Knight Rider LED would be right there.

I made mine not fake. Trimmed off the aft part of the piece under the hood with a Dremel. Doing that keeps rain and car wash soap from flopping up on the windshield. Definite improvement.

Small thing, but I painted the lettering on my hitch receiver plug.

    Looks good!
You know I always thought of doing that to mine but find it kind of difficult. Maybe with a artist brush? How you did yours?

It was a bit of a pain, and you have to have a steady hand. I took medium sandpaper, and lightly ruffed up the surface of the letters. Then I cleaned it with alcohol to make sure it was clean. I used an oil based paint. (testors, from a hobby store)
I found a very low nap painting pad that was about “2x”2 used for corners, and trim. I did have some overpaint to deal with, so I floated some paint thinner on the low spots with a Q-tip, then I worked around with a toothpick, more dry qtips, and an exacto knife Until I was satisfied with the cleanup. Very tedious, and all trial and error, but it actually came out looking pretty good. If I were to try it again, I might try one of the very fine brushes or a toothpick, because it was hard to control the flow of paint from the pad.
