im quite suprised at how few of you have previously owed toyota's, I guess the tacoma just has a lot of hype, which makes non-toyota owners interested so they check it out and get one.

I honestly never liked the Toyota brand. It wasn't until the 2005 Tacoma came out that I was blown away by it. Hell, I was going to purchase that P.O.S. Chevrolet Colorado. But there is no comparison to a Tacoma!

Looking at this, it appears that there are a lot of people that don't keep vehicles for more than 5 years. I'm planning on keeping my Tacoma until I can't afford a tank of gas.

I've got a 1997 Honda Civic that I purchased new and now has 190k miles. It's my daily commuter car so I haven't been racking up miles on my '07 Taco... 6 months and barely 3,500 miles on it. Although, the last trip I took to northern michigan on a ski trip I go 19.2 mpg with the truck so mileage isn't that bad for a 4wd V6.

I worked for a small business that used Toyotas and it was then that I learned how durable / reliable they are ( mid 80`s).The owners son (a best friend) bought a new `86 SR5 x-cab 4x4 and that truck was awesome.I just prefered a fullsize Chevy. The wife wanted an X-Terra so we compromised and bought the Taco in `01.
