Bought my 2007 TRD OR AC 6MT back from a friend I sold her to 5 years ago because I missed her and wanted something to drive for work. Between these three, there’s nothing I’m shopping for vehicle wise currently, which basically never happens to me... :D:D

sold it a year ago. 1975 CB500T. Sold to a guy around the corner. If I kept it I was going to do a frame-up restoration and my wife wasn’t keen on that. I bought a 1975 boat as my new project.

These two ‘83 BMW e21’s. Black one is an iS and is clean and original as possible. She’s babied and is driven up to The Vintage in NC every year with all the other vintage BMWs in the south East..

The white one is an e30 engine-swap and is purely a toy to do stupid shit to. Fast. And Loud.

What E30 engine did you transplant into the white one? M20? S14?

Hey! How do you haul that hotrod? I'm about to jump into karting and figuring out logistics and stuff needed beyond a kart, tools, and spares. Wondering if I can just tote things in my truck before having to get a trailer, then wondering what kind of trailer (open, enclosed), and how big (6x10, 6x12).

Build a deck in your Taco about 2-3 inches below the sill of your bed. Put your tools/spares underneath. Put the kart on top of the deck, strapped down. You are going to be hard-pressed to load everything you need to race successfully into a Taco. I was able to do so like this in a LONGBED 1/2-ton Chevy truck, but just barely. Don't even go into racing on a shoestring budget and a prayer. Wait until you can do it right, don't po'boy it. Your life may depend on it. Best transportation option, a trailer of no less than 12 feet, preferably a 16, or a toy hauler w accommodations, saves hotel expense. I know of a 16 footer that never left the lot after the first owner bought it, used it for storage. They sold it for $5500. Bargain. (Toy haulers are between $2-5K, more utility than racing.) You can find hard-used ones for ~$2K. Shit gets stole in motel parking lots. Stay at the track. My truck was a 5-speed, hard to find in '97, but it allowed me to pull it behind a motorhome, kart on deck, racing kit underneath.

Oh yeah, for sure. You're in the higher dollar Tony karting. We're looking to do dirt karting and possibly move up to or double-dip in dirt and asphalt quarter midgets. We have four tracks within an hour's drive, local speed shops, regional chassis builders, and budget classes with lots of capabilities to double and triple-dip between classes and run Saturday/Sunday events if desired. We just built a shop out back for a work area. Looking for a used kart as a starter rig and then we'll build out a true hot rod as we go. Experience/seat time for the kids is #1 and we'll tweak everything else. I have most needed tools besides specialized tire/wheel tools. We're looking a 6x12 enclosed trailer but that's the biggest investment part so not a priority off the bat.
    #1 build shop/ work space
    #2 Get a kart & safety equipment
    #3 Hit the track
#4 Consider larger investment: generator, enclosed trailer, building a high-dollar kart if the interest is there.

Other than a bit of a ticking issue (adjustments on the To-Do), she screams down the road. It's really great to, in a day, drive the 320 iS 4cyl, then hop in the M20-swap haha. The difference is insane.

Sounds like an excellent plan. One piece of safety equipment to purchase right up front: a bolt drilling jig to through-drill bolts. You will want to safety wire EVERY fastener on the kart. Probably will be required to race. Most sanctioning bodies require it. If they don't, do it anyway.

I take it you went with the "i" engine, and not the "e" engine. I had a 325es, and although it handled like a dream, ~127 hp just wasn't a lot of HP...lol Nice Q, but the HP was solely lacking. I think the engine in the 325is was rated somewhere around 165hp stock.
