The 4Runner has the 4.0 (though a different one than the Tacoma 1GR) because it has not been redesigned yet. It's basic bones date back to 2010. The next model will not have the 4.0

They are building a 6th gen 4runner it's confirmed. They will most likely build in Mexico since they're sharing the same drive train as tacoma 4th gen

That 5 lug is a full float axle. Single cab has a payload of 2689 lbs.

You’ll find nothing bad here about the Prius, we’ve owned 5 of them and will continue to enjoy them. Don’t get me wrong I certainly love the Tacoma but for gas savings my money is on the Prius over 48mpg looks good to me with gas over 5 bucks a gallon.

I'm only speculating based on what other manufacturers sell in the US, Toyota responding to the market, and what is a bigger factor the global supply chain.

The 5th gen will definitely be fazed out, sooner or later is my only question there.

Manufacturing of US Toyota products, will shift to North America with exception of one offs, like Corolla GR, and higher end Lexus products. This was likely to happen anyway.

4Runner, Runner if it remains BOF which seems likely will shift to a more Tacoma like product, obviously on the new platform. Which was going to happen anyway. I know that's splitting hairs, but I think the 6th gen will be a lot less like the 4Runner America is use to. I wouldn't be surprised to see the manual transfer case disappear completely.

Maybe, there could be an open bed 4Runner removable top with a manual transfer case.

I wouldn't be surprised if 4Runner did disappear, and remain as a just a name plate.

I'd like to see floating axels on all Toyota 4WD, if not just for strength, but I also like the way they look.

I think the number one reason for toyota using the 2gr-fks is the Kaizen philosophy. The goal is to continuously improve parts and processes to improve reliability. Toyota's methods are taught in Business Schools. Other manufacturers might seem more Innovative with 10 speed transmissions and turbocharged engines but they are nowhere near as reliable. For example the automatic transmission in the current Tacoma is based on the previous model and they were able to add a gear while reducing the number of moving Parts in it. Toyota has just now went to a 10-speed aisin transmission with the Tundra and I'm sure they will with the Tacoma on the redesign. They were late to the party but you can be sure it's going to be a much better transmission than what other manufacturers offer. The reason the Tacoma is the best selling midsize truck by far is reliability.

    Yep.
There is speculation if it is 91 RON(87AKI) or 91 AKI.
Since SAE J1349 was the test used to obtain torque and horsepower, I tend to think it's 91 AKI.

Last week sheetz stations around here introduced that 15% ethonal gas and were selling it for substantially cheaper than regular octane.

I know nobody reads their vehicle octane limits and were having some hardcore ticking and knocking after filling up

If they just introduced it and you have issues, I would wonder how exactly they did the switch over. If they put E15 into a previously E0 storage tank it may be absorbing excess water that the E0 kept separated.
