I would get the magazines every month and make my mom overnight stuff. I would also go to their conventions where they would take their huge 18 wheels full of legos! hahaha... i loved legos a little too much. I even broke my leg a day before one of their conventions and still made my mom take me on a wheel chair.

Yes. Good childhood memories. No need for video games. Cops & Robbers on bikes. Our whole neighborhood was our playground. Heck today, I'm afraid to let my Son out of my sight.

Yeah, no shit! I'd leave right after school and come back after dark and get my ass beat for being late. Later on, hell, I'd get straight off the bus and go play with my buds in the woods or something and not even check in. That really pissed Mom off!

The Flint river ran behind my house. I'm suprised one of us didn't drown. We were always playing in the swamp. Most fun was after a hard rain and it would flood. We would wade through it, floating stuff down the fast currents.

The woods were the best place to mess around after school.

    Derek,

I guess you are getting a life lesson on toys your parents had as a kid.

And don't forget slime. It came in a plastic garbage can.

Or silly putty. Sticking it on a comic strip in the newspaper & the print would adhere to the putty.

You ain't talkin about the Flint River down by Albany, Ga are ya. If so, I spent a summer down there in 1987. Mom was a nurse at Phoebe Putney. Not to many sober days that summer for sure!
