What was your first handgun?

Glock 17 was my first, after shooting my fathers 20c a bunch growing up I naturally went with a 17 to keep the same frame size/feel.

 

I'd rather not remind Uncle Sam and the Soviets about all my 2nd amendment purchases! Looks like there is a lot of great suggestions on here so far though! Enjoy your search and exercising your right and freedom to do so

 

First hand gun I ever shot was my G-Paw's issued Sig 225 Single stack in 9mm

First one I bought was an XD9 4" all black for my 21st.

Still have the XD and still love it's pointabilty and ergonomics. Just don't like the polymer, too much wear in my mag well from running drills. It's become my backup gun.

I have a P220r Super Match with TLR for my bed side and carry a P229r that according to Sig Sauer's records spent some time as a U.S. Secret Service gun. Wicked cool!

 

Sad to say a Hi Point is where I started before I got learned proper. Now I own a FNH FNX-9 and my grandfathers .32S&W, and have owned a police trade in Beretta 92FS 9mm, Colt 1911 XSE .45ACP, Springfield Omega 6" 1911 10mm Auto, Remington/AAC Tactical 1911 w/suppressor .45ACP, Dan Wesson V-Bob .45ACP, Glock 21 32 29, Ruger Super Red Hawk .44MAG, Uberti Hombre .45LC, and many others, I've owned a little bit of everything.

 

My 1st handgun was a Ruger Backhawk .357 mag.

 

A S&W Stainless 686 .357 with a 6” barrel the day I turned 21. Still have it.

 

So many things to unpack.

The first handgun I was allowed to shoot was a W German Zzig P6.

The first handgun I carried was an SP2022.

I miss old Sig.

I missed this thread before. The first handgun I owned was a Makarov in 9x18mm. Pain in the butt to find ammo for it back in the day (early 90’s).
It was a fun little gun and I wouldn’t mind getting another.

 

First one I owned was a Smith and Wesson Sw9ve. Most inaccurate firearm I have ever owned...but a big mag so I could at least scare them before I threw it at their head and ran.

 

First handgun was a S&W 686-7 shot 6 inch barrel .357 mag. I have 6 others now of both revolvers and pistols and it’s still my favorite.

My first handgun was a Sig Sauer P290. After purchasing, I realised that my hands were too big for it, so I went for the Sig 2022 in .40 calibre,

My Dad gave me a Ruger MKII years ago. It still shoots great.

 

First handgun was an inherited M1911. First handgun I bought was a Colt Python. 8" Blued. Added Pachmayrs and a Leupold 4X. Targets and busting chucks. Have since put it back to original. Now just targets.

 

Great little pistol I got one in .380
very odd bird not many imported .

 

Pretty sure that was my first one back in the 80s. Everyone should start with a 22 and then add more to the mix.

My first handgun was a Ruger Super Single Six .22/.22MAG bought new in 1967...it's still in my safe...I have, over the years, collected quite an array of handguns. Below are 2 of my favorites.
