1978 Buick LeSabre 4-door. Pontiac 301-2bbl. Triple Powder Blue. Plaid cloth seats, P/S, P/B, A/C, Rear Defrost, P/L (No power windoes). I ended up putting in a DelcoGM AM/FM/Cass (mechanical presets) w/ Delco-Bose speakers in the rear deck (I had a friend who could get things...); my friends still say that was the best sounding "factory" radio ever... And nobody would think about stealing it based on sight.

Got it (given to me) in '89. Junked it in '93 after 160k miles; spindles gave out.

And you could still get leaded gas at the pump in '81, so you wouldn't need to put super unleaded in it...
My grandfather had a '69 Electra with a 430-4bbl, and that thing would knock if it didn't get either lead or super (93+) octane...

I don't know about yours but mine was a heap of a pile. I can't remember how many miles was on it when I got it, but it gave me nothing but problems

internet picture of one that looked just like mine. Dad towed home a 1971 Ford Maverick with a blown head gasket. I took auto shop in high school and fixed it. It had the 200ci straight 6. A lot happened in that car.

First car was a used 1986 Yugo with a 1L engine making about 45hp. It was a turd but all I could afford at the time. Engine died (probably timing belt broke) after about 1.5 years.

Generic photo but mine kind of looked like this but not as nice.

1991 Ranger 2wd 3.0l auto. It ran fairly poorly at first so the price was reasonably low. Learned basic auto maintenance on it with my dad and had it running fairly well by the time I sold it. Managed to find a pic of the truck itself.

Its kinda a debate whether this is my first ride or not. I've had this 78 Trans Am since I was 11 (now 19) and I drove it for the first time last month. This was my dads first car back in the late 80s.

My stepdad had a few of those. You'd be lucky to ever see one in person again

1969 Chevelle. Bought it in 1985 for $500. Put Crager 5 spoke wheels on it; dad insisted that we change the 2 barrel to 4 barrel q-jet - bless him!
I only had it a few months when the oil light came on; I was a dumb kid & ignored it... Engine seized. I was also a strong kid & pushed it a mile home - by myself, lol.
It took me months to save up enough $$ for a rebuild. By the time I got it running again, the battery was toast. So the day after I got it back I drove it to get a battery. On the way home a lady ran a stop sign right in front of me & boom, t-boned her & totaled my Chevelle.
