I figured I'd bring this thread back from the dead after my mother handed me a thumb drive for christmas that had a ton of old family photos on it. Included in the set were pictures of my first vehicle, a 1974 Toyota pickup converted to a camper called a Chinook.

That thing was the best beach buggy I could have asked for. I could fit a 10' board inside! There was sleeping for 4, a two burner propane stove, a real ice box, sink, two saddle tanks, a main tank, and so much more. It was a little tough to drive that thing to high school every day, but it was free to me.

    Enjoy! :D

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
1980 Jeep CJ5, still got it but am trying to sell it. I can't afford a Jeep right now and am starting to fall more for Yota's reliability, wanna get either a old pickup or 4Runner to mod for wheeling someday, be able to wheel with reliability would be nice. I am not dissing Jeeps, but they do require a tad more maintenance than Yota's do, I worked on my Jeep every weekend to keep it on the road for the following week. They are a blast to drive though, especially in summer, take that top and doors off.

Of course it broke down you had the wheels reversed and it could not properly move that way. I had a 96 GT Love dit Although it needed more power which plagued those cars from the factory. I had sick intake and exaust and other stuff but wasnt enough. Loved the look when I did the sleepy eye mod.

Stonewall is the fattest 5 lug slug ever
1990 Ford Mustang LX 2.3 Fastback. His name was Pete Longstreet, and you can have a cookie if you know who that was. :D
He was my Nonnie's first, and when she passed, the car was left to me. He had sat in the back yard since 2003-2004, if I remember right. (Dad had disabled it so that Nonnie couldn't drive any more, as she was going senile.) All I had to do to get it running was throw a new battery in it and drop the fuel tank/clear it out. It ran like shit- too rich, and smelled like rotten eggs when I romped on the gas. Got 10 MPG on the regular. It was out of sync, so when I went around turns, you could feel the car shaking and the back end sliding, no matter how slow I went. Backfired like a champ, and didn't like going into 1st or reverse.
One day, my dad loaned Pete to a friend of his- the same friend that blew his Honda's engine and got a DUI/posession charge when she wrecked our van. Saw my car on the news, on fire on the side of the interstate. I got the car back as a charred heap of twisted metal, and I sold it to my boss's dad, who scrapped it. (I didn't have the means to get a car to the scrap yard, or I'd have done it myself.) He gave me $100 for it, and I gave that to my dad. So his friend destroyed my first car and gave me nothing in return.
That's why nobody else is allowed to touch the Taco.

With this car died childhood. I grew up in this car. My Nonnie used to pick me and my sisters up from Newport News every weekend in this car and take us to her house in Chesapeake. The slow, steady tick of the turn signal was always a comfort to me, and I had always dreamed of owning it.
