All my life we've had tacomas but now im trying to see if its worth lifting my truck and what the best way and reliable brands. I would die seeing my truck being lifted with spacer/blocks.

Thank you hope to have answers.

Suspension lift. Billstein 5100's are a better option than spacers. Contact @HeadStrong Off-Road they can answer all your questions.

5100s is your best budget option that isnt spacers and blocks. if you want better performance still on a budget you can go 6112s. after that would be your kings, foxs, etc.

    Welcome to TW!

Yes, they will fit. If the shocks come with factory 3rd gen coils on them, you'll likely get about 1" lift in the front.

Also, shocks/struts don't lift. Coil and leaf springs lift.
Shocks dampen the springs to prevent them from bouncing or being too harsh.

The first Q should always be 'why do you want to lift it?'

We know nothing about your truck or your use of it.

That matters for a truly good answer.

Now, in the spirit of a Friday thread, I recommend a 3 ton floor jack and quality jack stands. Safety first.

But will the jackstands rub with 285s?

5100’s a good if u stick to pavement
OME is a decent middle of the road suspension lift for off roading
After that you’re looking at adjustable coilovers like Fox or King

I'm leaning toward OME over the Bilstein kits -- rumor is that you'll need to swap in longer brake lines in the back with some of the Bilsteins. I'm lazy/budget minded at the moment, so I'm willing to trade that ease for the potential speed bump clunk of the OMEs.

Get as comfortable of a grip as possible and try to center the truck between your legs, as close to the body as possible. With knees and hips bent, just stand up to lift. Don’t use your back.

Look into the Eibach pro lift kit. Cheaper than both ome and Billies yet ride nice and perform well.

Grammar matters. The way the question is worded the correct answer is up.
