What works to remove windshield streaks?

Hard water here at the house even though I filter and have a softener I still get stains on the glass . . Bugs , salt spray in the winter ,mud..... I just like to do things 110%

 

What's up with the Quadangle? Any other pics?

 

I do have a high speed buffer and an obital polisher. For which I have not used on this yet.
I was going to take the light duty approach to start with and go from there.
So I'm ready to try a little more agressive this time around.
But I don't want to damage the windshield either.

 

I've read on detailing forums that even 0000 steel wool will scratch glass and wouldn't be recommended. All windshields are not alike so one may be fine the next not. Whatever you use don't start on the drivers side until you establish you're good. Obviously look from inside out to tell.

I will say that with rayon pads and ceriglass on a rotary would ruin paint in no time but for glass it can be very mild. It will take forever to clean up scratches but should work great on water spots and wiper marks. Wiper marks will take more passes then hard water spots though. For heavy scratching or pits, forget about it.

I use Chemical Guys Medium Clay Bar and their synthetic lubricant and the final results are simply amazing. Afterwards clean with any ammonia based window cleaner and buff with news paper. Swear!

 

Well, to approach theme accurately - you need optical diamond polishing paste and power polisher, but the problem is : very easy to screw up such a big surface, like a windshield, with one wrong move/angle/force. I'm doing 0000 for that reason.

 

0000 steel wool is my go to for sap on my windows.

 

ceriglass and rayon pad as @gorram said. Other products than steel wool to address whatever you are trying to fix
