I don’t want to be “that guy” but there are dozens of threads here about head units, and thousands on the internet.
Pioneer, Kenwood, and Alpine are the brands to stay with, but if you want someone to do your homework for you, this might not be the place

I have a 2013 DCSB and I just installed a Joying Unit. I don't have the JBL system, but mine was literally plug and play. Steering wheel controls worked right away, CarPlay, basically an android tablet with more power and tweaking for sound than the head unit ever did. Took a whole 10 min to install literally! So far, no regrets other than figuring out how to hook up to the rear OEM camera

I'm in the same boat. My '14 DCLB Limited JBL unit is doing the random on/off thing more frequently so I'm looking for a nice replacement. There are a lot of brands I've never heard of (Joyjng, Boss, Dasaida, etc.). I'd like as many of the factory options to work as possible (usb/aux plugs, steering wheel controls, camera). Another issue is that when I look at Crutchfield, nothing is available. Slim pickin's at the moment.

I am thinking about getting the Joying unit for the features and to save some $$$ compared to a similar pioneer brand unit etc. But, I live in HOT Arizona (over 100 temps for months in the summer). Do you have any experience running that head unit in super hot conditions like this? I've read some reviews that it cant handle the heat.

Depends on really what you want...More of an info-tainment HU or one that is more just about being an interface with USB or blutooth. Also how much control do you want over the sound? This one in the picture will be the end of an era of the last head units that can keep up to some degree with today's processors. Some guys now just run a DSP with a coaxial or usb audio connection to a hi res portable music player....
