Sell it and get a V6. Thats what I did. Don't waste your money on the stupid little 4 banger if you are not happy with the power. Its not like a V8 where an air filter upgrade will give you 5 hp and a cat back gives you 15 hp.

If you want a real gain expect to pay a lot of cash for turbo or regear. Save the cash and trade it in. I went from a 05 2wd AC 2.7 to a 12 V6 DCLB. Best mod I ever did.

Yea your probably right Mark.Other than the power on take off I really like my truck. And its almost mine.If I get the regearing done for a one time payment of six hundred dollars. And be happy with the results.I think It will be worth the money.

Just make sure you regear both the front and rear diffs at the same time or you will do some serious damage if you try to use 4wd.

Except Toyota's 2.7 is probably one of the strongest easiest and cheapest to main engines around. It's not a slouch, and TW reg cab is a great capable truck

    I would say this ^

If you truck is almost yours (paid off) then just regear it. All the money you spent paying it off can now go to mods. Have fun with your truck man. No need in buying another unless you absolutly have to. You already have a perfect litttle truck to Off road. and it will get great mileage after you lift (compared to mine). Just do the re gear, and if you want more juice save for a turbo. Its what I would do.

Actually Metard, West VA is number 3 on the list from 10. Virginia isnt even on that list

Oh, and west virgina is a different state entirely. Thus WV is west virginia, and virginia is VA. geography isnt your strong suit, is it?

    Too few to list.
If it's almost paid off, keep it. No need for the V6 though the $1000 budget is a bit on the low side to re-gear both front and rear and you can't just do one. I'd say about $1200 should cover both but if you want a locker, the cost goes up significantly.

Might as well lock it while your doing the regear too. Saves on labor since they will have it open anyways.
