what would be the difference between 4" and 4.5" backspace

ok, so after everything on the different wheels threads I went ahead with teh pro comp series 8069 black steel wheels. After agreeing ona price and other aspects of the deal, I thought evrything was moving ahead then today I got this email from the supplier:

"Ok, so I just went out to the warehouse, and we're out of the type B with 4" backspacing. I have one set of type A's but they have 4.5" backspacing. Let me know if that will be ok, or if your running too big of a tire."


Can I still run these with out any rubbing issues? I am planning on wrapping them in a 265/16 tire.

4.0 backspacing will sit a little further out on each side. I have 4.5 and wish I had gotten 4.0

you can run 265-75-16s on 4.5" backspace...

if you later decide to run 285-75s or bigger, you will need to run wheel spacers...

 

Is the backspaceing that comes on the Offroad model factory wheels 4.5?

 

^ TRD off road rims have a backspacing of more that 5" IIRC

EDIT: TRD Off-Road Wheels: 16x7, +32 mm offset, 5.25" backspacing
