Ouch-definitely not an ideal year round tire for some places. Of course, year round tires are all just compromises anyways.

I put a set of E rated Wildpeaks on in August and have no complaints thus far. We haven't gotten any decent snow or ice yet though.

I've done a mod or two
For my daily, 1993 Land Cruiser 80, I'll continue to run 285/75/16 Kumho RoadVenture AT51s. They're superb in weather, especially snow, and they're not super expensive so I don't feel bad replacing them every two years. Lots of people trash tires that wear quickly, but quite often those ones perform the best. I'll take the candle that burns twice as bright over something like a KO2 which lasts forever but doesn't perform worth a crap the whole time.

For my 1996 Tacoma, I've got a set of 315/75/16 Cooper STT Pro stacked in the garage for my next set, but currently running STT Pros in 285/75/16 and I like them well enough.
