Ok last night I stopped at a gas station and noticed reverse was extremely hard to get into.. It went with a little extra effort and after I backed up where I needed to be... I shifted into 1st to try reverse again.... reverse was gone.... I tried it a couple of more times and my entire shifter turned like a steering wheel and could turn alot... It makes a srange noise when i move it around.... like a ziptie does when it's being tightened. What could cause that? It was shifting perfect until last night at the store.

Just the shift knob or the whole shaft?

Youre talking about the shifter itself and not the knob, correct? Possibly the linkages are broken.

If yiure talking about the shifter knob, its just screwed onto the shaft.

There is a locking collar that holds the shifter shift in the trans. Maybe the collar broke or unhooked?

I tried to pull straight up on it to see if the shifter would pull out.... guess I might as well pull everything off around the shifter and see ifs it's something simple.... I know there's not much in there so maybe I'll figure it out

You have to take the center console off and then the front center console can come out. Just take a look at it there is not much has we can do from here
