Screw hybrid... just jump straight to full electric... Tesla motor and send it.

And then Toyota will have the honor of selling the fastest production pickup on the market.

Yeah I was gonna say full electric but im afraid with current tech for a vehicle this heavy we'd only see a 150- 200 mile range. Unacceptable. Electric is coming I'm sure.

Honestly, as long as there is plenty of fast charging stations between here and utah Im okay with 200 mi range in exchange for ridiculous acceleration and saving 150 in gas a month...

We joke but both of those have been alluded to by seatbelt mike.

From when the 3rd gen was released, chief tacoma engineer Mike Sweers he claimed that only the seatbelt bracket was carried over from 2nd to 3rd gen, which is laughable. He was then forever dubbed seatbelt mike here. He actually pretold of powerseats in an interview on the 16 saying it would become available in later models.

If the 2020 Tacoma was available with:

    Regular cab
    4.0L inline 6cyl engine
    4x4 twin stick transfer case
    5spd standard transmisson
    Solid axles front and rear
    2000 lbs payload
    20 mpg combined
    All for under $30k

I wouldn't trade, I'd be celebrating because hell has frozen over and that can mean only one thing.

The Buffalo Bills have won the Superbowl.

wow.... only one mention of a diesel option. I would trade for that w/ a 6spd M/T while maintaining all the bells and whistles of a TRD (don't like to give us options and M/Ts in Canada)

Learn something new everyday... however insignificant.

Heres to the public flogging of seatbelt mike in the event that he succeeds in moving the Tacoma into Unibody territory!
