Shit I got the cash I got two Tacoma if you had a dirt cheep truck like that for sale I'd have three,

If you where really serious about selling your truck for the price you wanted you'd of told people to walk, cause you know what it's worth, but people kept low balling you so you settled and it sounds like your still salty

Just cause you wouldent man up and didn't take the $8,500 and held off for another month and get a good $10,000 doesn't mean your Toyota isn't worth anything

it just means you don't know how to haggle or sell a Toyota

Only 126k miles on a 1st gen with the early model front end, I'd say the right buyer would pay $10k easy for that truck here in SoCal. Maybe even more.

Of course if you're in a hurry to sell and want the cash, you'd probably have to settle for whatever KBB says it's worth which is probably half that or less.

For what it's worth, I looked up the local (SoCal) NADA private sale value for a 2001 v6 4x4 Tacoma earlier this morning with 240k miles and it was at $9k.

Trade-in was half that, and KBB was close to half. Just goes to show that it's very demographic/market dependent, as well as having patience for the right buyer.

Built trucks have a different value to different people. Well any vehicle does, I guess. General rule of thumb on pricing I've always heard is the stock book value and then half the value of add-ons. It's still just a guide to the value. But as stated previously, if you're willing to hold out for the right buyer then you can get significantly more. But waiting for the right buyer could take 2 months or a year. Who knows.

It's all just opinions and theoretical value until someone forks over the money. 'Value' is in the eyes of the beholder.
