Hilux available in the US or Hilux options.

    Regular cab
    Diesel 4 cylinder
    Boxed frame
    Flat bed
    Manual 4wd transfer case
    Kickass bumper option.

Less comfort stuff and tech items and more durability items.

I really loved my Tacoma until I started looking the Hilux's. What a let down that we cant have this.

Having been in a diesel hilux in Europe and an American Tacoma, trust me, the Tacoma is not a let down. Unless you want a rougher and noisier ride and slower acceleration.

Hilux is still a truck while the Tacoma is being built to allow us to highway cruse and commute. The play is the grabber or illusion for the enthusiast crowd who are prepared to build the Tacoma into a truck.

Noise and rougher ride dont really bother me. I usually upgrade my trucks to be louder and rougher riding anyways. LOL I am not sure its possible to have a slower acceleration than my 2010 4 banger? Its got to be the slowest vehicle on the road other than my 89 4 banger.

Am I the only one that wants less features on a truck? I wish I could basically buy an 80's vintage taco with more power. Trucks/cars are really getting too complicated.

Nope. I am with you. I usually do most of my own maintenance. Chasing strange electronic problems and scrounging through junkyards for power window motors gets old. The less "auto" features the better for me.

No but here is the dilemma I found myself in. You can't buy a plain truck anymore. They all have some hi tech in them so do you go with the basic as offered where you are all ready past the basic truck we envision or do you go all in as the upgrades are just the basic hi tech only far more convenient or with even more applications. I find I am past where I want to be anyway. There are no degrees of being pregnant you either are or you are not. I took a look at the engine compartment and threw up my hands. It would take me a month to find the spark plugs!

As a result I went with the TRD Sport with the Upgrade package.

I know I'm describing 10k in adds here... but I would pay it all day. What would be sweet is if they made a Tacoma version like the F-150 Raptor.. upgraded suspension, lift, motor, etc. but the resale of a Toyota, this is the way to my heart!

also... made the damn version available in Canada, we always get the stuck with the boring stuff.

Sweet Jesus, they haven't done that yet?!

Their winter testing ground is in Timmins, Ontario, and if you Google map that location you'll see it's way the fuck up there were it's colder than a whore's heart on a payday.... hmmm, wait a minute, so is Toyota Corporate.

I want longer seat belt receivers, adjustable seats and smart key entrance from passenger side.

Toyota has very little interest in diesel in the NA market. As a Toyota tech I'm greatful :bananadead: Diesel stinks!

    K & N filter, 275 70 17 Cooper AT3, OME Nitrocharger shocks, 884 Springs, Dakar leafs.
    I'll play;
    1. Another larger or more powerful engine option / factory supercharger
    2. 3 driving modes: normal, econ and sport/tow
    3. rear disc brakes or larger brakes
    4. power rear window
    5. more tire clearance for off road versions
    6. chill out on the front end, looks good but tooo big and too long...
    7. more adjust ability for drivers, seat, steering wheel and pedals...
    8. Unlock able front sway bar
    9. Fully Tune-able computer / partner with the aftermarket more
    10. Towing mirror option
    11. heated wiper blades, mirrors and better heat venting to rear for winter off roading....
    12. better sound system
    13. More room for boots with adjustable pedals.................
I like the 16 they just need to go a little further on the off road options and upgrade a few things...

Twin turbo charger engine option. Like the Ford 3.5 liter Ecoboost.
