    I walked out to this on an August 2023 morning while I was several hundred miles away from home.

    I had options there but I went for the straps and straight home.

    I got this repair done.




    But today in April 2025, a little lower and forward underneath, I have this.....

    Man, I didnt realize how bad these frames rust out until joining this Forum. It is AMAZING to me. I live here in the southwest and have never seen this before. I know vehicles rust out up north and other parts of the country but its never something Ive had to deal with here, and Im in the collision industry.

    Ive seen some pictures of rusted frames on this site that have blown me away. No wonder why Toyota had that recall. Im thankful my 25 year old truck is healthy under there. I feel bad for the Tacoma owners who have had to deal with this.

    I see 1st gens driving around here all the time.

    I sure wish I saw more 1st gen roaming around, saw one while traveling in western IL last week, a prerunner in the lot
    Then I took a quick peek and there was quite a bit of visible crusties
