Grey. You will at least have a tad more paid off before it rolls 100.

$20,000 for a 5 year old truck with 100k miles?

To me, that's not a good deal.

2nd gen DCSB 4x4 was $32k-$34k new right?

I don't think you save much by getting a older high miles Tacoma especially since Tacomas hold their value pretty well.

Seems cheaper to save another 7 or 8 grand and get a newer Tacoma with 20k miles. It'll last longer.

    Just my 2 cents.

I bought my 3rd gen 2k below sticker, it does not drop 3k when you drive off the lot.

For $15k-20k, you could look into a pretty nice low miles Reg cab 4x4.

Buy what you like the best, it's your money. The Pro would hold it resale better than the sport I think.

I'd chose #2 but it depends a lot on how well they were maintained, any accidents etc.

I would get 2009 or newer, that's when Tacoma comes with brake stimulated limited slip differential "Auto LSD or All-trac" which works better than a open diff or mechanical LSD.

Rear lockers are great but do you want a open front or limited slip front? Also when lockers are off, it be nice if rear is limited slip.

And 2009 or newer Tacomas comes with brake force distribution, headlights that don't yellow over time, and other safety features that makes auto insurance cheaper.
