I'm starting this thread to see what people would like in a set of aftermarket flares. I'm talking width off the fender, styling, etc. Jungle Fender Flares is looking to make flares for the 05+ short and long beds. I thought I would start this for them to see what buyers are looking for. The creator will see this, so please post some valid things you would like to see.

    Thanks,
    Jamie

    No stupid rivet/bolt holes!

Oh, and colour matchable. Be they from the factory or just primered so we can paint them.

Well, I would want something that you could run when you had just aftermarket wheels and it wouldn't look like you had a foot extra of fenders on each side. Also I think it would be neat if you were able to run a 3.5 LT kit on it and not have to move up to larger fenders for legal coverage.

Body lines should match up, I think some of the glass companies do it nicely but others dont. The headlight should be integrated nicely, I dont really like how some companies have space between the headlight and the fender.

Also Im just throwing this out there. I like what ford has done on the raptor, it keeps with the body lines of the F150, and it has the factory style fender flares on it.

I know I cant post a picture of it without this thread spirling down, but notice the flared fenders, but still with the black flares on it and it looks factory. I would like to see this but maybe a primered flare that you could color match.

keep in mind that these are simply flare replacements and not entire fenders. the flares for the 1st gens come in a matte black to be painted when they arrive.

you can go to their website to see what they currently make for other models, including the 1st gens. no bolt holes at all on them. i agree that they look terrible.

seriously??? those would be very broriffic

and you cant even use the flares on a 5-lugger unless you swapped fenders and bedsides or put all the holes in place

thats what I wanted, with a bedside to match, but they are just making the "bushwacker style" ones, not fiberglass.

stock body lines with more clearance and coverage... keep them as high as the actual metal bedsides with more tire coverage than the bushwackers

some of the flares they make are fiberglass, but they are not complete fender replacements. take a look at their site and see what they currently make for other models

flares that actually cover the tire when you slam the truck so you dont have any rubbing issues

If we are going to wish for a good looking flare, why not wish in a big way???

^^ those are a good looking flare, but they would probably look ridiculous unless you were running a 15" wide tire

Maybe but I would take the gamble that they would look good on my 33x12.5x18 wheels and in the process do what they are designed to do by protecting all the garbage being thrown up the side of my truck...?

i'm running the same width on a 35 w/ 4" BS rims. that's probably a good 6" of flare sticking off there. with the stock flares off, i only have about 2.5-3" of tire sticking out the panels.

Grin...Well if they were available they would give the TW folks a good reason to help stimulate the economy by going wider with both rims and tires to get the full effect of the arctic flares...I agree they are extreme by our current standards but they would cause a new fashion in the Tacoma world..
