I love my taco but I don't use the bed as much as I thought I would. So I would go with the 4Runner. I rather have the enclosed back space. Thats just me though.

As long as I get to keep my Taco, I go with the 4 Runner.
    If it's a trade, I stay a Tacoma owner.

Nope - this would be an only vehicle.

Taco I had the FJ 07 model and even though it was fun buggy I love the Taco more for usefulness. So my vote? Tacoma

If it was the same price I'd go with the 4 Runner. Now that I have a dog, he takes up the whole back seat so on trips everything gets stored in a car top carrier mounted bed rail height to leave the bed free for stuff. I wish I had the extra space.

not enough info - for me personally I need the towing capacity the taco or 4runner provide, but if you want a wheeling vehicle, the FJ is superior to both and will have stupid resell value as they are no longer making them.

Does the Tacoma have to be a double cab?

I would go back to the FJ, I had 2007 and it was a blast. My tacoma is a Long bed with no locker and it is driving me nuts. Working to get a locker in it, but the FJ rocked out of the box.

Having a TRD Pro that is my obvious choice. I need the Double cab to haul the family around and use the bed frequently. Drove the 4Runner and it seems a bit underpowered and ended up with a Highlander for the wife. A friend has a Trail teams FJ and works great for him as he has no kids. I could see this being an issue as the kid thing changes in the near future.

    4Runner Pro for sure.

In fact, I'd love to sell my Taco and get a 4Runner pro if there were any to be had anywhere around me.

The mirrors are big on the FJ, I liked those goofy back doors, my dogs hopped right in. I loaded a lot of crap into that thing, usually had the front seat full to. The FJ sure takes a beating (critics) from the masses but they never went 30mph down a dirt road in it, or thru a lot of mud. My Taco does not compare, maybe when I stick 6 grand more into it. I like em both though.
I looked into that pro a little more, it does not seem to have a whole lot more than a TRD and I want bigger tires.
