If I had 4g, I would build a nice AR platform rifle or pick up a Barrett .416. But that is just me. Good luck with what you decide.

I say AR-15 built by Del-ton Inc. They make an awesome rifle and it can be customized any way you want it and still have a lil change in your pocket to spend on your Tacoma!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I had an M14 once. Glass bedded, over-sized stock with a match grade barrel. LOVED IT. Unfortunately I was forced to sell it. :pout:

Do you really have to have paramilitary gear?
There are so many options....If I have 4g's, I'd buy more than one rifle.
If you like to play with legos, buy an AR, and a selection of uppers.
Otherwise, I'd buy something in the 7.62x51 chambering with all the upgrades.

In .308 I'd opt for the DSA FAL, or possibly the SCAR H, in 5.56 Keason has it right re: the BCM.

not much yet, soon to come
Do you specifically want an M14 (that would be a military, auto-selectable weapon, I've been told). I have a Springfield M1A SuperMatch (civilian version of M14) that I am thinking of selling because I just don't have the time or money to keep in practice (not to mention my aging eyesight).

Its a factory tuned, 1/2 moa weapon with the McMillan Marine camo stock. I have added a Sadlak Industries, custom-fit steel scope mount, and the Sadlak spring guide and gas piston. I ordered it with a Springfield 4 -14 x 56 "Government" MilDot 3rd gen scope which is still mounted. I added an adjustable cheek rest.

Also has all the tools and cleaning kit. I have all the receipts, manuals, and records. Lots of magazines, stripper clips, leather sling, ballistic case, Harris bipod, etc...

I've got more than 5K into it. About 300 rounds fired, before I realized it was a much better rifle, than I was a shooter. Hate to see it just sitting there and would like to find a good home for it... :D

    Interested?

Can't you buy a SCAR chambered in 7.62?? That would be a really nice combo. If not I vote for the M14.

    "OTHER"

I'd get an AR, and a few K rounds of ammo.....No rifle is of any use without ammo. And its best to keep as much on hand as you can.

How much are you looking to get?

I've been teetering between a "M14" (LRB, SEI or Springfield) or AR .308 (LMT MWS, LWRC REPR) for my next purchase. Just waiting for a good deal to pop up now, although, I'm leaning more towards the LMT at the moment. KAC is out of my price range, but that Noveske is looking pretty good too.

M14's are fun but overpriced. IMO, I would go with an AR-10 .308. Gives you a large caliber and a time tested rifle platform. If you are lookin to spend 4K I would seriously look into Les Baer custom rifle. Damn I wish I had 4K to sink into a rifle:drool:
