03 DC TRD SR5 Auto tranny manual tcase. Im so glad I got the j shifter on this truck. My old 4runner had the auto tcase and I never did like it. I just prefer manual I can still shift into 4hi without stopping if I need to.
Also I can have this cool marlin crawler shifter hah

I'll play...2003 TRD Xtra Cab-Manual Tranny-Manual Transfer Case. Love it. Ive switched from 2HI to 4HI at speeds as high as 40mph with no probs. Obviously have to stop or be crawling with clutch depressed to go to 4LO tho.

you only have to take the rear cover off, and I think I could have did it with out doing that, I didnt pull my rails out, I just stuffed a rag in the hole, and used a Drimil to cut the tab...

My recently acquired -and still a bit gitty over the purchase- '04 Tacoma DC 4X4 SR5 TRD is an auto tranny with the push button (4HI). I'm cool with the push button feature much like I'm cool with the electronic RR e-locker button that came with the TRD package.

Just to share, when I purchased my truck used, the dealership showed me the "Vehicle Inquiry Report" on it. It's like the list you see on the original window sticker. It lists that the push button was a feature with an associated cost to it:

    HIGH 4 SELECTOR SWITCH..........$135.00

The switch reminds me of the shifter on my '00 4runner limited, but my T4R has a multi-mode (wannabe AWD) push button where the Taco button is only 4HI.
