I previously had a Silverado, and a Ford Ranger.

I now have the 2011 4.0L DC LB 4x4 and feel it is one hell of a truck, and even though I wish I bought a Taco years ago, I'm really happy with the one I have.

It has plenty of power and enough room for my needs. As long as it is mechanically sound and doesn't rust out from underneath me this will be my last vehicle purchase. After awhile how much technology is too much, although I did have a Bluetooth installed after my purchase.

I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion is on what they think the best year was for the Tacoma and are they happy with the one they have?

    Subjective question much?

Well, at least the 1st gen didn't have rust issues AND crappy rear springs. But I still love my 2013.

I had a 1991 Toyota pickup, it was bomb proof

The 2 second generation's that I've owned are ticking time bombs.

If I had to do it all over again I'd grab a 2004 xtra cab 4cyl 5 speed, and not go through 3 trucks.

    I love my 93, but that's not a Tacoma :D

I think the 2009 is the compromised between all previous years' bugs fixes and intro to the new technologies of automobile era ie. rear camera and such. Now if Toyota would just fix the diff wrap, the tacoma would be golden!
