With what you have planned, you should be just fine. might have to flatten the pinch weld on the firewall, but otherwise should clear without issue. that one inch body lift will give you a lot of extra clearance and might be able to avoid hammering the pinch weld all together

Thank you! I appreciate the insight! I searched high to low, but cant find a lot of people that have a similar set up.

Hank I am in the same boat as you. I have a 17 TRD Sport DCLB and while I plan on doing some trails in N. Georgia, I'm looking at mostly some rough access/firebreak type roads and I'm conscious that I live in urban Atlanta. I love the way my truck rides, but I prefer a little more height. I am thinking of getting the 1 inch body lift from Toytec (http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/RM83002-TTL--1-body-lift-for-05-up-Tacoma_p_1351.html), and 2 inch spacers from Rough Country (http://www.roughcountry.com/toyota-leveling-lift-kit-744.html). I know next to nothing about kits, so if anyone has any input or recommendations on this plan I am all ears. Eventually I'll swap out my stock tires for 33's and likely upgrade the suspension then, but would my suspension be okay with combining the 1 inch body kit and 2 inch leveling kit?

personally, I'd skip the spacers and just go with the 5100's. I went spacers before my current set up (truxx 3 inch top spacers, toytec 3 in pre load spacers) and i regret it. Ended up spending lots of money for no reason. If you go with the 5100's for the 16's and set it at the 5th notch, you should get around 2 to 2.5 inches there. If you want to do a body lift, you can but for 33's it shouldn't be necessary. Later, you can add springs or the toytec coil over kit if you want. The beauty I've figured out with the 5100's is their versatility.

If you want something more, you can always go with the 6112 coil overs when they come out. If you're doing lots of off roading, it might be for you.

Pulled the trigger on 285/75/16 General A/T on 16x8.5 Bully Pros. Ordered the Icon Dynamics Stage 4 suspension lift. Talked to the manufacturer and they should fit no prob. Just waiting another 2weeks for the suspension to arrive to have it all installed. Can't wait!!!!

What are people's preferred rear bumpstops? Should I go with the toytec bumpstop spacers and the stock bumps, or do something different?

Well, I'm doing the Icon rear bump stop kit but I believe the super bumps are a pretty good budget friendly option as well

Can someone educate me on the significant advantage of an Icon kit vs a Toytec kit? I'm looking at a stage 2ish, no UCAs at this point. Maybe in a bit, but the budget isn't allowing for them right now.

What do you play to use your truck for the most? ICON is a digressive shock and Toytec shocks are progressive. IMO THE ICON shocks perform best at higher speeds or over big rocks. The Toytec shocks and are great for everyday driving and most offroad situations.

Interesting -- I didn't know about the different types. I probably wouldn't qualify myself as enough of an enthusiast to need the Icons then.

I've sifted though 152 pages and see setups that have and haven't needed CMC. What is the largest diameter tire (33"?) that doesn't need CMC and what amount of lift required for that? Specifically, what size tire is largest without CMC with 2-3" lift?

Just as important is to know what width and offset wheels people use. That is a huge contributing factor in clearance. It is not all in the tire diameter but where the corners of the tires sit.

Anyone know of a good 3 inch lift kit? New to lifting but dont want to go any higher than 3 inches due to loading the bikes in the bed.

Yeah I don't do much off-roading but I would like an improved ride, I think I will just take the risk with the stock tires and wait a couple more months and do it the right way..
