those two pieces are rarely separated though, you're almost better looking for some takeoffs either here on Facebook marketplace that are already assembled.

I have a 2007 trdor and recently got a set of 5100s with 2017 trd sport coils on them set at 1.75 does anyone know if this is a good idea without UCAs? I currently have a spacer lift on original kybs woth 200k miles and they need a retirement.

Double Cab 6' Bed 2021 Off Road (140" WB) Brand Spanking New
    Goal:
    1. 2" front and rear to help with the break over angle
    2. Not ruin my truck
    3. Not buy control arms

    Questions:
    1. Can I add 2" spacers front without control arms and do I need to lower the diff?
    2. Can I add 2" Blocks/Ubolts rear and do I need to do anything their.

    Other details:
Truck does not appear to have much rake, whatever I do, will be same front and rear.

Not much of a bed load, a few bicycles, I tow a 1500# aluminum trailer (tongue is about 175#)

    TIA for any help.

At 2 inches of lift you will not need to buy control arms.

By using coil spacers and blocks, you're going to negatively affect your suspension's ability to articulate. If you're wanting 2 in of lift to give you better breakover angle, I'm assuming it's because you're at least doing some light off-roading, in which case, you're going to want actual suspension lifts as opposed to blocks and spacers.

Does anyone know if new wheel bearings are needed when doing a 3inch lift?

    Thanks

Good idea to replace your driver side needle bearing with a solid one from ECGS.

What are people doing with their old factory suspension parts, is there a market for them? Just ordered an Eibach kit to get better handling when I go 4x4'ing and my factory parts only have 8k miles on them so wondering if they will just sit in a box in the garage until I throw them out in a decade...

Keep em if you can. If you ever have to remove shocks to get them rebuilt you can throw your factory stuff back on.

Okay folks, I realize this question has probably been asked a million of times so my apologies for brining it up again. I'm too lazy to go through the 185 pages of this thread.

Okay, so I got some 6112s with 285/70 17s. When I initially bought the kit and install the shop (4Wheel parts) said that I did NOT need to replace the UCAs. I don't do any off-roading (yes, I'm my baby is a "mall queen"), and so far I have had no rubbing or any issues with my current setup. A friend from my local Toyota dealership does a lot of customizations and lifts on new trucks. He told me that I should replace my UCAs and recommended some new Bilstein UCAs that he uses with the same 6112 setup. The question now is, do I really need to replace my UCAs and what is the quality fellow Tacomaworld members review on the Bilstein UCAs? Thanks for the help!

If you're sitting at less than 3 in of lift, you do not need to replace your UCA's. Your "friend" is trying to make money off of you.

Thank you for your honest advice. That's why I figured I would ask my fellow Tacomaworld buddies. I know I can trust you more than my friend trying to sell me some new parts and labor.

You can definitely get away with stock UCAs if you keep your coil overs at a moderate height. Most people say 2-2.5”. Aftermarket UCAs can help make the alignment easier (you can move the wheel forward by increasing caster which can help with fitting bigger tires) and are useful when flexing the suspension. But for street driving, your stock UCAs should be fine.

Someone posted this video in another lift forum and I found it very informative. I only read the last 10 pages but the video answers so many questions about lifts. I’m sure it’s been posted before.
