If you find that stat on the clip holding up to 5000lbs. I would like to see it. The way that clip just barly sits in the shock body groove I don't see how it holds 5k. But I am always willing to absorb new, fact based information. You also have a good point on that top nut. I did not think about that part.

I couldn't find that info, only think I found was video guy saying that stock coil will fail before bottom cup will, tho that was with 2nd gen coil. But I'm pretty sure I've seen that somewhere. Just as of exemple that it will hold lots of weight. Truck curb weight is 4200lb about 60% of that weight is in front so each strut cup is holding about 1200lb as its standing add two people in front and it would be 1400lb it's safe to say that when you drive you on the road on some bumps or when you brake it gets to 2000lb per front strut. When you completely bottom out your shock it's probably 4k just assumption. So it's very possible that it will hold 5k before it gives out. The question is.... if you set your billies at 2.5" or 1.75" with 720lb coil can you completely bottom out your suspention hitting bump stops without exceeding 5k limit?

And this is why I have my popcorn. So many people trying to cut corners and save a buck with this type of lift. It also doesn't help that a few companies were promoting this lift on a 2016 without doing the R&D. It's just a matter of time before the failures start rolling in. But that just my assumption.

I just checked with Toytec. The rear extended brake line kits that they sell have been confirmed to work. The front kit have NOT been confirmed yet. There is a high probably that they would work but it has not been confirmed.

Thought this would be the best place for correct response.

Whats the best/largest size to run on 16s at stock?

I have sport 17s now but going to change them for the off roads and need to pick up tires. I think the sport wheel was 265 70 17 largest. What would that be for 16s? I really suck at this type of thing. You are experts.

    The l
The Largest you can run stock on 16s is a 265/75 16 which is the equivalent to a 265/70 17.

I'm considering doing the same set up brother. Mind providing pics of your ride after leveling it out?

Well this is what I got with icon extended travel and rear shocks only
    image.jpg
I measure from the bottom rim edge centered (not tire) to the top of the fender flare edge
RF: 29" pre lift, 32 1/4 after lift (after jack stands were out)and 31" after driving around to settle the suspension
So did I get a 2" lift? What do yall think

You're welcome! If you have any other questions I can try to help. Rubbing will also depend on the backspacing of the wheel and how aggressive your tires are. I had some slight rubbing on my right front mud flap that was fixed once I installed some 5100s at .85 on front.

Hopefully someone has an answer to this, I was watching a lift kit install on youtube and they talked about bumpstop spacers and a differential drop...I am getting a Fox stage 1 level kit delivered this week, but its only going up 2", I don't need to drop the diff or put in those spacers do I?

Personally I wouldn't think you'd need the bump stop spacers, actually haven't seen anyone use them. But the diff drop isn't a bad idea at all. Anything to lessen the angle on those CV joints.

I'm gonna say no on bump stop spacers. If your truck is 4x4 I would add the front diff drop. It's a relatively cheap and easy install that will help protect you CVs from excessive wear. With that said you can get away without it but for $30 bucks why not?

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Front-Differential-Drop-Kit_p_11.html

P.S. if that fox setup is only designed for 2" of adjustment you may only get 1" out of it on the 2016

I am getting ready to pick up my Sport 4x4 4DR LB and have read endless threads on lifts. I looked at Toytec but seems pretty hardcore for what I would be doing (price vs. need).

    Here's my deal:

I am pretty much a flat Florida driver. Some back wood stuff for hunting or the beach, no crazy terrain. I want a good ride for doing most of my travel around town and don't want spacers, want to do this right. I plan on keeping the truck a long time. I don't want to "over" buy, just want what fits my purpose.

I really like this package and called Josh today. Very nice guy, informative phone call.

Just looking for a simple 2-3" lift that will look great with 285's.

Any additions, subs or problems with this package?

Got 20% off from autoanything.com. So it came out to $1279 shipped for the Icon stage 1 kit. Me and buddy installed it. So I'm happy with everything

I figured as much, for now just going to run new tires possible Terra's eventually. Getting the wheels this weekend and will need to wait a month or two for funds on tires, then possible coils later down the line. Have a great hookup on tires and can get then out the door at $550.
