I must have been thinking of Helen Hunt! Thank you. Nobody else I know ever heard of Arc2, that machine that's pictured had a buggy type thing that came out of the rear. So the original toy hauler.

My take away is, because of universal design constraints leading to similar design, the grille is one of the few areas they can express the brand.

Mercedes, Rols Royce always had grills the size of Parthenon...they started that decades ago. I think Lexus grill it a work of art. Obviously Lexus doesn't have the heritage of the mentioned brands but first of all Lexus is way better quality and it's nothing wrong with their high end look. Look at Hyundai how overnight invented "genesis". BMW in the 30's had a model with elongated kidney grill, and since that is part of their heritage...they tapped into that.

The funny thing is, I still have yet to see a trademark filing for that hybrid LX. I am concerned about why it has not yet come to market, as it was rumored as early as 2018-2019, but from what I hear LX 750h/ Cruiser 300 TTV6 hybrid got pushed back, to hopefully late next year.

By now they would have filed trademarks for a 2023 MY, so is it 2025MY now is my question? Odd how the Tundra TRD Pro benefits from a lot more than the flagship SUVs that touch $100k.

In terms of the GX 550, yes it sounds really good. I just hope the information I have been getting on this new GX isn't from idiots, as was the case with this LX 600 some 2 years ago being referred to as a Bentley rival:rolleyes:.

In terms of AHC and etc, I wouldn't be so certain yet. That's gonna be a ground up redesign, so there's no telling what will be offered. This was my description elsewhere of it:

It would be a damn shame if they didn’t put their latest and greatest in the LX. If it’s left with just the non-hybrid 3.5, what reason would I have to not just go for the GX? That’s how its been. You want the big engine? Get the LX or Sequoia. I’m willing to bet the GX will be outrageously ugly also.

AHC is stupid to me. I understand most high end SUVs have some type of raising and lowering system so Lexus has to include it but people just end up ripping the system out when it gets old anyway. Some people have even done drop bracket lifts on the old LX’s and retained the auto lowering/raising.

My LX470. Back when Lexus wasn't overbiting over the top in the grille department.

Probably depends. With an SR in 4x4 only being only about 4K cheaper than a manual TRD OR some TRD buyers are certainly chasing function and affordability, but plenty of TRD buyers are after other things and are well removed from SR buyers. For a commuter only I'll stick with my base model, MT, Corolla. The Taco is a tool with many other uses and ATRAC, rear locker, and V6 all make it more functional. of course, plenty of people don't need those either.

Not trying to argue, just an interesting discussion.

Edit: I was comparing V6 DCSB SR. If you drop to a long bed 4 cylinder the price difference is significantly greater and my argument is less applicable.
