Okay, that's much, much pricier. The whole "buy once, cry once" doesn't apply when you're crying off that level of pain. I was looking into one, just not in the books right now. Currently looking at the Savage Stealth Evo in 300win

    Condensed story time.

Yesterday we went to the in laws for lunch, first time we've been there this year.

Mawmaw gave our 4 year old daughter and old cell phone, whatever. I told her, she can still call 911, oh well. We get home and charge it, daughter is playing with it 3 hours later and comes running in the kitchen in panic mode "I dialed the emergency number" I said WHERE IS THE PHONE?

You can't raise your voice to her in these situations, she starts crying quickly, she is an emotionally little wreck when you raise your voice to her, she gets the emotions from her daddy :anonymous:

Well turns out brother has the phone, I go in there and he says "I hung it up".

I hug our daughter and explain to her we can't call 911 unless it's an emergency. I ask her how and what happened, she said, and I quote "it said place emergency call and I hit yes" I said then what? She said "some lady answered and ask what was my emergency" okay, what did you say "I ask her if she would hang up" I busted out laughing, I told my wife in about 20 minutes we will have a deputy roll up.

Nobody ever called back or came but Sadie learned a valuable lesson yesterday

Is there a reason you have such a loyalty to Savage?

I've never really messed much with HPR's because, well, Indiana. Up until a year or two ago, you could only use shotgun for hunting...and the closest range to me that is over 300 yards is about 1.5 hours away at a military base.

I think I have a Howa 7mm Mag coming down the pipe soon as a "heirloom" from my dad, as he cant physically get out and down a deer, dress it, and drag it out of wherever it ended up. LOL.

WHAT am I gonna do with a 7mm Mag?

Remember MIL's raccoon problem, nothing says "I told you so" like a 7mm mag :D

911 calls from cell phones go to the state troopers or highway patrol, not local departments. It does this without pinging a location as well. Nobody was coming  unless you told them where to go

Nope, no particular reason. Have shot a few of their rifles over the years and I've always been impressed with them. Accurate, comfortable, and I like the accutrigger.

As far as what you're gonna do with a 7mag....:notsure::D

I don't typically go to a range, just out in the desert. At the closest spot to me I can get out to 350 without too much trouble. There are a couple spots in there you can go past 500, but you gotta be the only one there. A different area and you can go as far as you like

Every time I call 911 from my cell it goes to the county beside us, I have learned to ask for the county I live in before telling them what I need. It's amazing how quick you get transferred.

@Roll Tide I should say that I haven't taken this out past 300 yet. Still having my own issues with consistency. Not sure what happened since I first shot a 7mag accurately to 350 first time out hitting a can and now where I just keep psyching myself out, but who knows. I'll never blame my equipment

Nope, a tool will always do its job if you learn to use it properly. 98% is operating error. Gotta find that special place in the mind to shoot decent distance.

Also, when I get that new one, I'm thinkin about swapping this scope onto that and getting a less powerful one for this one.
