Per SweetT who requested the long version. Now there are holes in this timeline, and some shit is skipped over. Just bear with me, and overlook any writing mistakes.

It's story time boys and girls, or maybe this one should be called

    a Fucking Nightmare.

I wish that I was a competent writer, I could write a book about the dysfunctional family

that I grew up in. It would make one hell of a read.
My dad was 2 years old when the Great Depression Hit.
Needless to say he grew up very, very poor in Oklahoma and Texas. What few photos of him that exist when he was young, he's
wearing Bib Overalls, hand me downs with patches on both knees and barefoot. He made it to the 8th grade and no further.
But he found his niche in life, and was dam good at it. He was better at it, than College Grads with Engineering degrees.
He traveled all over the world working in the Oil Industry. He was requested over others because of his ability and job skills
He could understand and do math that confounded and confused me, and he used a slide rule for years, before switching to calculators.
My parents divorced when I was a senior in high school, and it split up the family.
A few years later my dad remarries and makes life miserable for all of us, including my two step sisters, We all moved away,
the oldest step sister. My twin sister left first, then my step sister, then me and my younger brother. That left just my youngest
brother and the younger step sister, both still in school left at home.( I have to leave out so much info, or it would take pages to write it all down)

At one time he built up a business that was worth about 3-4 million dollars, and he would fly his new family(Step Sisters, Husbands,
and children all over, to Cancun, Hawaii, Acapulco, Disney in Florida for all the grandchildren, and how my brothers and sister
bitched about it. I told them, it's his money, and he can spend it as he sees fit. But a few years later, a divorce cause him to sell on
the cheap. He also found out my step MIL had embezzled $500k dollars from the business, but he wouldn't press charges. I'd also
love to know how much money he lost in the Stock Market, which he didn't know shit about. He bought a 28 acre property in central
Texas, and put it in my Cousins name, who lived with him and took care of the books on his next new business, and was paid well to
do this. But after about 5 years he decided to move, and live with my twin sister, which pissed of my cousin. She stole $50k from
the bank, since her name was on the account, both his extra vehicles, vand locked him off the property.
All this while he's away on a job.She was pissed the gravy train was leaving. He wound up having a stroke over this shit while
driving down the road one day, long story short, nothing happened to my cousin, but a lien was put on the property by court order.
She got out of that 80K a few years later by declaring bankruptcy. So my dad moves back to south Texas and buys another house on 14 or more acres, and is living with my sister. and BNL. He's giving away money to my youngest brother like candy(Guilt from divorce), and little brother is taking advantage of it. Gives him $25k worth of Gold Kugerrands, and finally his American silver coin
collection worth another $10-15 grand. This after my Dad had already spent tons of money on a failed bar with micro brewery inside, about 100 grand or better down the drain, and failed guitar business, and finally a failed painting business, all total, we figure $250 grand. My dad also gave him several free vehicles, including a nice buck crossover like Tiger Woods advertised on TV. He's giving bags of gold and silver away to a half sister (I found out about when I was 26 or so), like theres no tomorrow. Bought them 18 wheelers for their husbands.

Meanwhile I'm living in NC working for the local school system, which payed shit, but I didn't have to worry
anymore about corporate downsizing or layoffs. Here comes a shocker, my dad decides to send me $25k, so I can buy a house for my brother and I to live in. And he gave me a bad ass 2007 mini cooper s, which turned out to be a lemon. I finally got rid of it and purchased my 2003 Tacoma, smartest thing I'd done in a while. We drove it to Texas 3 or 4 times to visit, looking at the way everyone there is living and wondering what we did to piss off my dad. But I never wanted to be involved with his money, didn't want to be involved in any squabbling over it. But I was glad to receive what he gave me. By the way, my oldest brother, his 1st born never received one penny, not one. My dad was disappointed he didn't turn out the way he wanted him too. I did manage to talk my dad into buying him a new Ruger AR 15, since he did drive my dad to all his VA doctor appointments, and did quite a bit of shit for the both of us, remember I'm a cripple during this time.
But the money ran out, and my little brother just stopped bringing his sons down for my dad to visit with. That really pissed me off. Then my sister decides that she can't take care of my dad anymore, and if we don't come and get him, their going to put him in a nursing home, and here's where the story turns interesting. The property my sister was living on, was originally in both of our names, but she bitched about it, and they sent me the paper work to sign over my half. This after her taking about me moving there when I retired, and us being neighbors, with only having to pay property taxes, since everything was paid off. Again, no fighting it, I signed over my inheritance since I didn't want to be involved from the beginning. Funny how Greed changes people, especially family members.

My Brother flies to Texas, rents a truck, loads up my Dad's few Belongings and brings him here. He lived with us for 3 years before he died. We split the 8k left in his bank account between us. Then my sister calls and begs for 3k for her son, which I did, and now regret. Moving ahead, They sell the house in Texas for about 140-150k, after they had to take about 40k off the asking price to pay for a major foundation repair. Moved to another town north of there and stayed for about 3 years. My sister wanted to move here and live close to me for the remainder of our lives, so the came here last june, and they talked about buying a home here and staying, but my Sister developed 3rd stage lung Cancer and has been going through radiation and chemo. During all this time, I've listened to my brother in law brag about all the gold and silver he's bought over the years, and my sister has spent well up to 40-50k dollars on jewelry which she'll never get back from it. Now it's only worth the gold or platinum content. And he purchased several thousand dollars more while they were here. Now remember, they owe me a paltry 3k which they still haven't paid me back yet. The other day my brother in law tells me that he loaded 2 cigar boxes crammed full of gold and silver coins my dad had. He put them under the seat in the Ryder truck they rented. I said, what!!!!!, did you tell my brother about it, he says no your dad didn't want my Older brother to know anything about it. I asked him why in the hell didn't you call me and tell me about it. He just looked at me with a stupid expression on his face, which I so desperately wanted to remove. He knew my Dads memory was for shit, and I told him you really couldn't' believe that dad would remember putting something under the seat after a 3 day road trip. Needless to say, 10-20k dollars or more, in gold and silver now belongs to some else, and a brand new 22 pistol. So instead of me having the last of my dads inheritance sitting in my safe for a rainy day, is now gone.

Now, I believe that this was either the most spiteful, negligent, asinine thing anyone could ever possibly do. Why would you leave something that valuable to the memory of an 87 year old man with dementia and the beginnings of Alzheimer to remember. I would rather think that he(BNL) stole the gold and silver and created this convoluted story as a cover. I'd rather believe that than believe the truth. Now this is also after he told me that my Dad was broke, and had given all his gold and silver away on the phone a couple of years ago. Needless to say, I'm way beyond pissed off, and told him he should have taken this information to the grave with him, and never told me about it. It's completely ruined everything from the visit we've had in the last year, and I'm really fucking pissed off about this. Anyway, I went nuclear on his ass, and told him and my sister, if they couldn't see how wrong this was from my point of view, then they were both extremely fucked up, and could get the fuck out of my house. I also told him that he should be really glad that my body was so screwed up, or one of us would be in local intensive care unit. I also went nuclear on my brother for not searching through the truck to make sure there was nothing left behind. At the time when my dad moved here I was barely able to walk from my bed to the recliner, and never even ventured outside to see the truck, since I couldn't help with unloading it. Anyway, I left town and went to stay with one of my daughters to cool down. When I returned home, I sincerely apologized for blowing up the way I did, but told him I was still pissed about what happened. I told him that my sister and him were welcome to stay as long as they needed. But Mr. Perfects Pride had been wounded and he was unwilling to accept my apology. Two days later, he walks in the living room and tells me that I can't be trusted anymore and they were going back to Texas, because what would happen if I blew up at him again. I was stupefied with disbelief at the gall this asshole had, and asked him if there was any other Major fuckups he wanted to tell me about. Now previous to this debacle, he spent almost 2 weeks trying to convince me to sell my house and move to Arkansas, which I told him no way was I moving to a state as poor as that. Where he was talking about moving, there's no jobs, no tax base, and abject poverty. They wound up staying another month or so, until my sister was done with her treatments and well enough for travel.Well they left and went back to Texas where my nephew lives, but I'll bet you a dollar they wind up in Arkansas where their friends from Texas moved. The day before they left, he tells me if I ever need a place to stay I'm always welcome to come and stay with them. Can you believe the audacity of this guy. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be seeing my twin anymore, or the 3k in this lifetime.

Sorry for the long rant. Should any of you TW members figure out or know any of the players involved, just keep this under you hat.

I have quite a few friends living in Lafayette LA, and thank god, they were spared the brunt of this storm. The last hurricane that went through there flooded them out of their home. They lost dam near everything. And as for Government relief money, what a joke that turned out to be.

Holy moly you've got one hell of a shitty family. The fact that you even keep in contact with them is not something I would be kind enough to do. Nope, no way in hell. Sounds a bit like my mother's shitty and crazyside of the family which I have no contact with and pretend don't exist.

Yeah, I'd be asking for that 3k back just as an occasionally guilty poke at their conscience or lack thereof.

Thanks for the story...I think lol. It's like reading one of those "the rise and fall of..." series.

Customer just came in and said he was headed to greensboro national golf course. He said he was a little hesitant because the storms predicted for today and it’s $58 per person and he’s paying for he and his son

Last time I played golf it was $18 and I fought going but that was 15 years ago :D

$58 just to possibly get rained out? Sounds like a golfer to me lol
Glad you guys are safe back at home and it's just yard waste.

If you guys sweep it all into the street will they do a pickup after stuff like this? Or do you have to try and can that all?

Good Saturday Morning to all you TW Whatever screwballs out there. It's going to a rain out here Today, maybe I'll catch up on some much needed sleep, and if I can't sleep then maybe I'll get motivated to clean my bedroom. At least in this stage of life my mom's not bitching at me about doing it, although I wouldn't mind having her around to do it. Miss her quite a bit, she was the coolest.

I'm going to do some research and find out how to file a complaint against a Doctors office. The Orthopedic guy I went and saw about my hands isn't returning any of my calls. All because I wasn't physically able to complete an MRI laying on my stomach for 30 minutes for each hand. Then after doing more Google FU, an MRI is required to treat trigger finger. Going to call my insurance company and see if I can convince them to stop payment to this asshole. I think he's one of these Jerks that see's a medicare patient and wants everything under the sun done wether it's needed or not, just so he can bill it.
