You know I’ve thought about this.... but in reality there is just too much to see here in the USA! Traveling abroad sounds awesome an expensive! But I could just drive to amazing places like your front yard to watch the moon rise over the mountains!

I think if you looked up how inexpensive non-peak season all-inclusive resort travel is you'd reconsider that stance. I believe the most we've paid for a trip was $2800 and that was an all-inclusive adults only resort in Costa Rica and that included air travel and transportation. That was a big splurge for us. Normally we run right around the $1200-1500 range for something like 5 nights or so in Puerto Vallarta, again also including the travel.

And yes, I agree that you can find most of what you want in our own backyard, but you're not going to find a beach where someone's refilling your foofoo drink and where at the drop of a hat you can walk right into a restaurant, grab a table and have your lunch without a wallet on you.

/sigh...now I'm reminiscing.

 

For $2800 I can prolly take a trip to Moab!

I’ve found stress free unhooking dropping the phone off in a lock box and not carrying at all to be more stressful than helpful! Yes you get a few days but that first day back hits you like a wrecking ball instead of say getting the texts, emails, and being able to read and then ignore at your pleasure! Knowing what your coming back too!

So in that sense I opt for a semi connected vaca rather than a true getaway! It really makes me happy when I get to read and email and go “fuckem, I’m on vacation!”

 

I don't like most people in our country, I don't think going to another country is such a wise idea for me.
If I want to travel the world, I can just drive around LA and visit probably a good 75 percent of the world's cultures and get food poisoning in the same 3rd world medical facilities and conditions.

 

At least ya got options! Here on the south they have no culture!
