I tried but the lights are off and you can't see.

Basically I can close one eye pretty decently but can't close the other as well. If I did something like kegels for my eyes and give it a workout maybe I could teach my eyes to be ambidextrous.

It made sense at the time.
I dunno, but I had a two part cocktail earlier and it was delicious.

Smoked old fashioned. I need to figure out how to make this at home.

C'mon now, this poll has the potential for a lot of good stories.
Why are you people holding out?:annoyed:

    Okay, here's one.

    Story Time with Gritto. :)

I got into rock climbing in High School. First rappelling.
I soon progressed to technical, i.e. ropes, pitons, etc.

Me top roping, and please excuse the crummy Kodak Instamatic pics...hey these are ~45 years old:

    ScanImage002a.jpg

When in my 20s, I took several trips out West to rock climb.
The following pics are from a trip to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado:

My climbing buddy in front of The Painted Wall...4,000 vertical feet.
No, we didn't try to climb that.

    ScanImage006a.jpg

We got a campsite and climbing permit for the next day.
We set up our camp and bunch of rowdies from Denver pull in.
    @buffedout :rolleyes:
They had a keg and invited us to partake.

    You can guess what's next.
We partook a little too much.
I crawled back into the tent eventually.
My buddy didn't make it. It was only 50 feet or so.
He slept it off out in the sagebrush.

    Next morning was... unpleasant.
I woke my buddy and said, "Hey our permit is for today, we gotta get going."
    I made some powdered eggs.
He took one whiff and made retching sounds.
I took a few bites and said, "Ooh, you're right."

So we're on the south side of the canyon and there's a rimwall, maybe 300 feet high.
We decided to go down the trail a bit, then turn off and give it a go.

    I took the first pitch.
A "pitch" is a turn, you go somewhat less than the full length of rope until you find a good belay point.
I took the first pitch and followed a nice wide crack.
I found a good spot above 100 feet or so.
Set a couple wedges in the rock and called out "Off Belay, I'm set, your turn."
He calls out "On Belay" and comes on up.

The crack had petered out at an overhead.
My buddy traverses to the left a little and says:
"This rock is kinda rotten, dunno if it'll hold a wedge, maybe not even a piton."

    ScanImage003a.jpg

    ScanImage004a.jpg

Not long after the above pics, he disappears around the corner.
After a little while, I hear: "Oh Shit!".
Then Ping Ping Ping Ping as his wedges pop out as he fell.
    Like a zipper unzipping.
    He ended up beside me.
    "Fuck This", he said.

I said: "Okay, belay me while I recover these last few wedges."
I pounded in a piton and we rappelled down off that.
My buddy at this point was a little...shall we say...doubtful about that piton.

Done for the day. Fuck it.

You are an incredibly fascinating person. I wish I had grown up in a time of more freedom.

I'm absolutely phobic of speed when it's on my own doing. That's why I choose mountain climbing, it's like walking up a steep hill. Nice and slow.

I'm gonna choose my words carefully here...
But there's definitely a lot less freedom these days.
Mostly in the name of making you "safer".
I'm old enough to have seen it.

All the Nannies with a corncob up their ass can bite me.

    Story Time with Gritto. :)

The Real Reason I got into rock climbing.
I suppose after all these years it's okay to post old girlfriend pics?
It's not like there's a Statue of Limitations on it.

So what's the real reason...I hear you saying...

    Why, Girls of course.
    Athletic girls.
    Rappelling gets them hot.

    I'll bite.

I jumped out of a plane once with bare feet and landed on the beach. My buddies girl took video and the first thing I said was that was better than sex. Walking up the hill off the beach sucked and I regretted not wearing shoes. The end.

Mind you, I did have long hair when I was 18-19.

Yeah, wish I had it. My buddy fucked that relationship up. She is now married to another guy with kids. He kept me in the divorce and I lost her.

I have a question for all you DIY wrench heads. Is the rubber piece inside the Top Hat the coil spring isolator on the 1st gen Tacoma shock assembly, or is this a separate item I need to purchase.
