Storytime about Utah

We vacationed in Moab last fall. Oklahoma's liquor laws were pretty puritan until about a year ago when we bravely marched into the 21st century, so I thought I was prepared.

You may have guessed by now that I kinda like the hootch . My wife suggested taking some wine with us but I thought we could easily find a decent bottle of vino.

Later after settling into base camp, we set out to find some liquid refreshment. My Google search revealed one liquor store in town and off we went.

We arrived to an empty parking lot, a damaged entrance and a note explaining that someone drove their car into the entrance and it would remain closed for several weeks. On to Plan B.

The grocery was no help. Low point piss beer, so no bueno. We were told about a restaurant that was allowed to sell it's spirits that were distilled in Utah so we headed over there. Turns out they sold their own vodka. Nothing against the Russians but vodka does not appeal to me. If I I were a hard core alcoholic and just needed a drink then maybe, but why not just get a bottle of NyQuil from Walgreens and chug it?

Anyway, we manged to make it a week without any booze and still have an awesome time. Best part was gazing at the stars at midnight in Arches NP. Incredible.

Anywho, moral of the story is listen to your wife? What? Fuck that, I'm lit.

I remember a race I went to at Ruidoso Downs. This horse was running for the first time in a lower class than usual. The odds on him were like bet $1.00 to win 50 cents. So everybody bet on him, including me. Damn nag didn't even show.
