    @Z7Xtreme
    How wide is the Mississippi up there? I always heard it's a lot narrower farther north.

    My Mom would say:
    "Go outside and blow the stink off."

    As long as I showed up for dinner, it was cool.
    Different times...
    Parents are smothering their kids today, or so it seems anyway.
    That can't be good.

    Well.... this is a WHATEVER thread so here I go....
    My kids were raised pretty strict. They had to be, their parents were crazy! I knew the stuff we have done. We definitely didn’t want our kids to do some of the same shit. So we spent a lot of time with them ,got them involved in sports, & did new things together. Unfortunately the shithead gene is inherited apparently. As hard as we tried, it showed up. My kids friends parents and I all had a pact. If one of us knew something one of our kids was doing we would tell each other. So my closest mom friend Made sure I knew if my child so much as spit outside. The ONE and only time I told a mom something her kid did she was in complete denial. I decided right then and there I would never say another word because most parents will not except that their children do mess up and they are not perfect. Meanwhile my kids were guilty until they proved to me they were innocent. Which they always got the opportunity before there was a punishment. Most cases... my kid messed up! Shockingly they don’t hate us and they survived. Today they are decent human beings.... with a lil shit shinin thru every now and again. LOL

    Agreed.
    Big difference between being strict and smothering your kids.
    As you know.

    Well, it's slowed down with everybody (SUCKERS!!!) at work.
    Except for those injured on the job, waiting for surgery, retired.
    In my case, one led to another, to another, etc.

    Man o man, it's great being retired. :burp:

    Well I did construction for a lot of years myself. When it got slow I got a new job, about seven years ago. Im an order filler at the Walmart Distribuion Center now. Three weeks after I took my job at Walmart my construction job picked back up but I decided to stay put for the job security. Also I would lay myself off in the winter because I cannot handle working in the cold so it seemed like a no brainer to keep a job and work year-round. I really loved doing both jobs.

    Wow, good for you! I really respect that.
    Yeah, working in the cold gets harder and harder as we get older. Ugh.
