I know where they are it’s just that the stones are disintegrated. They used some shitty stone here. I’m not talking marble either. They were simple farmers and when someone died, they would get a slab and carve it. The first ancestors of mine came here from Connecticut in 1774. They have a cemetery on the property but you can’t tell who is who. I guess the generations before me were cool with letting the stones fade away but Im a shit stirrer and can’t leave well enough alone. That settles it. I’m having my 3rd great grandparents stones recut.

edit: plus I’m going back to that outhouse and take a dump and write on the walls.

I was in a cemetery once (leaning on my shovel) and a dude came up and asked, "do you dig graves?" I said they're alright.

 

Yes I do too, I get alot of request for a little graveyard that most of my family was buried throughout the 1800’s. It’s on the side of a very steep hill and very few can find it. They all say that they must have buried them people standing up!

 

It’s a lot of work. What I find is that you can’t ask people shit because most of the time they were given bad info. Go on ancestry.com and start with your parents. Follow the paper trail and don’t move on until you can verify everything with documentation. It’s fascinating as all fuck. You may also find out things that aren’t all that wonderful also. People have been around for a long time and your roots go right back to the beginning just like everyone else does. You just need to connect the dots. Ancestry find lots of shit for you
