Memories in life; several people who I've met this far along, many just a brief acquaintance and one memory of meeting someone that had a huge owl that had been done at a taxidermist. He knew that it wasn't legal to have, and I honestly don't remember who it was and wouldn't ever rat on someone anyway (bot for something like this anyway) but what couldn't hardly get over is how large this owl was and the size of its talons were wicked looking.

I 100% agree. They actually need to abolish the MBTA but is is an international treaty, so that aint happening. Its ridiculous, common and abundant birds have more protection under the MBTA than endangered species do under the Fed/State endangered species act. I can get take permits (license to incidentally kill) endangered species, but getting take permits for common nesting birds is ridiculously hard.

    It really is amazing.
I still have a slide rule I used in High School.
The physics teacher had a electronic calculator, which at the time went for the hefty sum of $200 bucks.
    We all wanted one.

This is the extent of my knowledge about the Migratory Bird Treaty:

Crows are in it. (Unless that has somehow changed in the last 20 years).
    Really.

The PA Game Commission, contrary to popular belief, is not staffed by morons.
If there's gonna be a limit on hunting days for crows, those days will be allocated for when it's most convenient for the majority of hunters.
That means, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from July to April.

[EDIT] Well, that's not really true...the extent of my knowledge about it, I mean.
I used to hunt waterfowl and still hunt doves.
But I've forgotten most of it.

Don't get an iphone. One option, one company, all expensive. Not compatable with non-apple products. Not customizeable and forced filing systems are a pain in the ass. They are tyrants when it comes to apications they ALLOW you to put on THEIR phone. I can go on and on. Their target customer is someone that is okay being controlled.

Android phones are sold by many companies and they come from low end to high end; their is competition. It is like having a PC in your hand almost. Compatable with other products, including Apple, though that is a 1-way because Apple wont allow the return. Customizeable to all hell, and that grows everyday because of outside app makers. They are not tyrants when it comes to apps, take risks on new ones, don't block apps becauae they are too "adult, etc". They are complete freedom :oldglory:

If you used a slide rule in HS then :hattip:
To you for keeping with the times and knowing how to use a cell phone. I just have seen several who are older than me who want nothing to do with a cell phone other than talk into it lol

My Club has a big ass stuffed Snowy Owl.
Why someone would travel to the arctic to shoot one is a mystery to me.

The folks that determine hunting quotas are some of the smartest MFs in this world. The variables and models they use are complex. I barely passed my wildlife population statistics class.

Hunting game birds following state laws does not violate MBTA, same for depradation of pests.

Maybe there was a lemming crash up there forcing them to move south into the northern states in winter, such as NJ! Then someone shot it or found it dead. Happens every 7?? Years, per the lemming population boom/crash cycle. My cousin saw a lot in NJ a couple years ago.
