Thanks for the advice. I got this to take off the adhesive.

    https://www.amazon.com/Goo-Gone-Aut...d=1558131377&s=gateway&sprefix=goo+gon&sr=8-3

It works about as quick as molasses on a January morning in northern Minnesota.

Yea, I saw that at Home Depot and considered it but went with the 3M adhesive remover instead. I felt like if a company that makes adhesives/tapes etc. makes a remover for them it has to be better than the Goof Off liquid (maybe it's really lighter fluid) and alcohol that left marks on my B pillars.

Now, even the 3M stuff requires multiple applications but I like that I can spray it on and let it sit a minute. I have used it on the roof moulding glue, the tailgate badge glue, the pin stripe and bed decal adhesives residue and recently on the Lexus trunk badge. It has not harmed the paint on any of them. Again though, it will not remove all the glue in one shot but it does remove it.

The most important thing though is to use the softest rag you can. I recommend an old cotton T shirt. Some of those micro fiber cloths may feel soft when they are dry but they grip when wet, and what you are gripping is the paint. I think that was part of the mistake with the B pillars.

If you're using that other stuff though and it just takes longer but isn't doing any damage, then I say go with it. If it works, don't fix it.

I've been using disposable shop towels. It does work, just takes for fvcking ever! :annoyed:
Combined with how difficult the vinyl was coming off, I frustrated easily.

Those blue ones, like paper towels? I would never use those. Too rough. They have something on them too like a glue. At least the ones I use do. It's what keeps them rolled up so tightly.
