    Okay, true story confession time…

    When I was 13, I worked as a bag boy for a supermarket. One day it was hotter than hell and I really wanted a soda badly. But I didn’t have any money.

    At break time, I went to the assistant manager and told him I put money in the machine and it didn’t give me a drink. So he opened it up and gave me one.

    It wasn’t long after that, the store went bankrupt and closed down. I felt so guilty that all those people were now unemployed because of my stupid, selfish, criminal act. I’ve carried the weight on my shoulders for so long now.

    My therapist says it “probably” wasn’t my fault and they most likely would have went under anyway. But she can’t know that for certain. You know? If only I could go back and undo the wrong.

    I need to hug my emotional support chihuahua now.

    Piggyback confession/storytime:
    My mother for a short time worked at a bookstore and at the end of the week/month they'd throw out all unpurchased magazines and some books that they'd rip the covers off for some sort of refund but otherwise they'd hose it all off in the dumpster (to "destroy product"). WTF, right?

    I have a few books on my bookshelf without covers so if you ever stumble across them you'll know that they came free.

    The store no longer exists as the same business but the company still does.
