Hunting? I tried to spatchcock a turkey for the first time and no scissors or knife could go through on it's own so I had to enlist my rolling pin as a hammer.

...and this is what I sliced my knuckle on because I set it down with the blade open while cutting fabric. One itty bitty love tap. The blades are super sharp.

Looks easy till you're working with a 20lb bird

But I still like to think that spatchcock is the best way to cook it. Super reduced cooking time and all your herbs staying in place instead of running off into the pan. Everyone should try it at least once or twice.

 

I brought ‘em down with a slingshot but never took one on hand to hand like that. I’m thinkin’ cage match.

 

Been spatchcockin for years..just never know what it was called.
