It's a pretty good job. We do the planting and weeding at all the main facilities along with decorating many facilities for different seasons. I'm pretty much the main hedge trimmer and equipment operator in my dept. It has it's good and bad days just like every other job. Good days are changing out dog bags in the dog parks (I get to see, pet, and get chased by dogs), doing puzzles until the sun comes up in the winter (no joke), ocasional flowers (when we plant all several thousand flowers we have some left over which we can take home but not many), and very flexible hours. Bad days are carrying 400'+ of hose across a park when the gator is unavailable, stung by bees or wasps (I hit a nest once and got stung about 20 or so times mostly on my face), dragging pointy Buckthorn through fields, emptying fishing line holders (found a liquified squirrel along with garbage in one) and always short handed and a day behind. One of my favorite things is going to places and doing stuff the general public cant do or see. My favorite private park is a "natural area". It might be strange to some but this is a field of 99% native plants and its gated off so only employees can get in. It's been a great real first job.

 

Yeah. I couldn't say anything with 100% certainty. We weren't on the trail when we saw the guy. We'd been hiking south and east for probably an hour so we weren't near high rock when it happened. That was just our starting point.

Thats a nice view you got up there. You ever see the hang gliders jump from there?

Heres my favorite design we've done with flowers. We change it every year. It always sucks to see all the flowers look amazing and then just go tear them all out!
