    I had some work done on my left hip joint in 2014. Not a full replacement, a new procedure called a "Birmingham resurfacing" where a metallic cap is placed over the ball at the top of the femur, and a metallic cup is placed into the socket portion of the joint in the pelvis. I was down for about 3 - 4 days, but so much better once it was over. Had severe osteoarthritis in both hips. Right hip will need to be done eventually.

    Hope your finger heals quickly and completely!
