Yea, it's a big deal for me to get new tires. Kinda expensive and you gotta live with them for a while. The factory Goodyear's are spanked and I just about slammed into the back of a car during Friday's rain, not even going the speed limit. She just skidded. Also going around the Cearfoss circle in the dry they're loosing traction.

I love the Coopers I put on the 2nd gen. Just took a look at what they'll cost for my size. They might win out...

For me, the ride quality and life of a Michelin is superior. Small family owned business down the road might be able to give you a good deal. Rotations included in sale.

I agree Michelin is the better tire. That said I've been impressed with the Cooper's so far. They seem to edge out the 'chelin's in deeper snow and that is a factor for me. I pretty much have to get to work in the snow and the road I take is very hit or miss (until I hit the Maryland side, then it's clear  ). We had a set of Cooper highway treads on the Jeep and those did excellent in the snow for just a HT tread.

I've briefly shopped other places and keep coming back to Thomas's in McConnellsburg. They're $50 less per tire on the Coop's than Tire Rack even!

The tread looks like those. Ill have to go look at the the tire later. Not factory. They are quiet though. We had some geolanders on a 4runner we had, those worked really good

Tire reviews can be so damn misleading. Some will say it's the best thing since sliced bread, and then another is the complete opposite. I should have been doing more research. Last little ice storm we got (PennDot did not even salt the road!) driving home at 11pm at night on the factory tires I could tell that was the last winter for those. Car was coming to an intersection and I just barely tapped the brakes and the ass end started coming around. Yup, that was is it
