This bull was only visiting and was chained with a ring through his nose to keep him in the stall. I have another farm story that involves a pond full of catfish, about 20 loaves of stale bread and a 10 speed bike but I shouldn’t tell that one here. :anonymous:

Many years ago we were camping at Lake Umbagog (Maine side). I was sitting at the picnic table randomly watching a spider walking around near my feet.
Out of nowhere a wasp flew in & in a fraction of a second it apparently stung it and flew off.
The spider did an almost instantaneous curl up into a ball and stayed there.
A few moments later the wasp came back, poked at it a bit to make sure it wasn’t going to fight back, then started dragging it.
Every few feet it would fly off - getting its bearings I assume - then come back to continue dragging.
My wife thought it was funny that I spent at least 15 minutes watching this wasp drag the spider probably 50 feet through fairly rough terrain to a hole at the base of a tree.

You gonna drill a hole in that gift before or after presentation?
Well, she had lots of hair, albeit mostly short, couple of bugs on her, all of his/her teeth, although they didn’t look too good, and a very knot so subtle smell….and she prolly weighed 1,200 poundages.
Sound like the chicks in your gym class??

Options for banded snakes in Maine are:
-Eastern milksnake (type of kingsnake; also called milk adder)
    -northern water snake
-juvenile north american racer (varies from spots to bands).

Milksnakes and racers have smooth scales, while the water snake's dorsal scales are keeled (raised in the middle, not flat and smooth). I can see the keeled scales on the snake in question, so I agree with @Cooldood. Pretty cool coloring for a water snake. Not sure how common that is. Most the ones I've seen are more brown/tan.

    Assuming you're in south Maine?

Looks like that guard rail needs to be mowed and weed whacked along with pot hole repair. Need me to call that Hwy Dpt and get it taken care of?
