    Sure.
We made sure the ground had a slight slope to it (so water didn’t sit under the pallets) laid anti grass / weed cover, then laid the pallets down. I went and bought pretreated boards and laid them on top of the pallets and screwed them all on. I recommend screws over nails. Be sure to leave a little space between boards (1/8 in or less) screw both sides of boards length wise in case the boards warp. It was easy peasy. Hardest part was getting the ground on a slight slope.
Finished off the boards with some Thompson water sealer.

LOL. I guess you've been to Lake Cuyamaca, the first time I fished there was in January, a cold rainy day, there's nobody else fishing. I figured this is like June in Colorado, there's trout here, I know how to catch trout.

I go into the bait shop to get my day permit, lady gives me the permit, I'm all full of myself thinking "She thinks I'm crazy to fish on a day like this." I'm thinking Pfft, I've fished in hailstorms, I was born in Colorado, I'm a MOUNTAIN MAN, a little California sleet won't keep me from catching trout.

So there's a wood jetty there by the bait shop, I get about 10 ft onto it, it's a sheet of ice, both feet fly up into the air, I'm flat on my back tackle box broke open, barely held onto my pole before it went into the lake. Knocked the breath out of me, and I know she's laughing her ass off, I sure would have been laughing if our positions were reversed.

I did scrape everything back into the tackle box without hooking myself, did make it back to the truck trying to make it look like I wasn't hurting, drove over to the other side of the lake, made a few show casts. Left there with no trout and no dignity.

    Storytime.
Years ago me and a buddy went squirrel hunting not too far from here. I was kicked back, leaning against a tree and holding the trusty Ruger 10/22. My arm started to kinda tingle and I checked it out, as one might do in that situation. I noticed my arm and the rest of my entire body was covered in red "dust". It was summer time so I figured it was pollen or something. Wrong. I could see back then and I realized that the shit was moving. So I mashed on some of the crap and it didn't phase it. Fuck. Head to toe covered in seed ticks. How many you ask? I looked like someone had busted a giant bag of red flour on me. So I go back to my buddy's truck and climb in the bed of it and strip off all my clothes and start scraping them off. We were parked on the side of a road, I couldn't tell ya if any cars came by. I was on a mission. After scraping for eternity and not having much luck, my buddy shows up and starts laughing his ass off. I tell him to shut his ass and drive me to the nearest creek. So I ride in the back of his truck, naked, while he drives me to the creek. I grab my clothes, hop in the creek and start scrubbing. About a week or two later I find a swelled up tick in my belly button. I figured that wasn't so bad considering how many I had on me.

Edit: this is what they look like. I had substantially more than this on me.

Not good I had a Deer tick in my head as a kid. Turns I got it on a trip to ranch in Idaho. Those things are nasty.

I had a deer tick in my armpit. That shit was no good.
I was covered in 3 layers of clothes. I have no idea how it got as far as it did.
Just felt it bite, but could reach it at the time. About 10 minutes later it was buried and couldn't pull it out or risk leaving some behind.

I myself have had many run-ins with seed ticks. I have used a sticky lint roller to remove them off of me and I have found a spray that is very effective and keeps them away.C486B608-85F2-4EC4-AB76-64066B107AA3.jpgD5B488C7-CFDB-4A2E-922B-C822DBD5B00C.jpg

I still have an S&W Model 19 .357. Thing can shoot a hole through a 12" diameter tree, but my effective accurate range with it is about 20 feet.

Funny story, me and a fishing buddy went to fish an alpine lake, very wild country. I strap the .357 on, Ray says "Why are you carrying that, you can't hit jackshit with that thing." I say "Just in case there's a bear."

OK, so being kinda stupid, I had packed salami, swiss, Kaiser rolls for lunch. After a few hours, cinnamon bear smells that nice lunch, we see it, yell at it to chase it away. Cinnamon bear isn't intimidated, charges us. I didn't shoot, that bear was moving so fast I barely had time to get the pistol out of the holster, and even if I had a chance we've oftened wondered if the .357 could have stopped it.

I swear to god, after we yelled at it, that bear didn't exactly put a smile on its face, but the hair on its back stood up from skull to tail and its eyes were focused right on us as it charged. Luckily it came to a stop about 15 ft away, Ray was yelling "Don't shoot, don't shoot" knowing it would have to get close before I could get an accurate shot in.

Don't let anybody tell you a bear can't run downhill. That was a steep mountain and that bear was flying down it, sprinting like a dog, front legs between back. Pretty funny in retrospect.

We have 2 local sporting goods stores and they both have it. A forestry consultant told me about it a few years ago when I had my property put in a forestry management plan...It is good stuff for sure!!
