I recently saw a lecture on YouTube about Paganism in Roman Britain.

In the 1920s, a small town south of Hadrian's Wall was being excavated.
The archaeologists discovered a little temple there, and some lead tablets buried under rubble.
The tablets were thin lead sheets on which were written prayers and requests, and then rolled up.
They were placed in niches in the temple walls, so the God could read his fan mail.
This apparently was very common in the Roman world.
For the first time, Academia got seriously interested in such tablets.

Around the same time or soon after, a tablet found at Lydney was sent to Oxford to be examined.
A young Philology Lecturer there translated it and wrote a report.

The inscription had to do with a stolen ring.
The owner really really wanted it back and described it in great detail...
... and put a curse on the one who stole it.

That ring had previously been found 100 miles away at Silchester and was in a museum.
There was no doubt at all that it was the very same ring.

My belated Christmas present to myself. It has two ways to build it, either as the targa or turbo. I chose to do the turbo build because it's one of my bucket list cars.

edit: once it's done I need to reorganize my collection.
