Yeah, the Illinois gun registration has been a massive failure so far with about a 2% compliance rate. I have not, nor will I register any of my guns. All of my guns have been bought legally through an FFL dealer which includes a background check. I will no longer purchase any gun or ammo with a credit card since the government is tracking purchases that fall into certain categories. The Shockwave may not be a comfortable gun to shoot but, I’m buying it for one reason only.

That credit card tracking thing has yet to go into effect - some states have mandated a code/tracking and some states have outlawed it entirely. Credit card companies are trying to avoid doing it for now and also trying to sort out how to comply with completely opposite rules from different states. Until they do, it is not really a thing.

BUT if you purchase like 2+ handguns in <5 days or you buy multiple rifles in CA/AZ/NM/TX - from the same FFL, they gotta report you to the ATF.

I personally don't like the shockwave - that nubby pistol grip thing would make it impossible for me to shoot well.
That being said, I did buy an AR before Biden took office - not having the goberment tell me I can't buy a gun because it is black and scary [that is some racst shit, not very woke of em!!].
